What if ANG ended, with only Zephyr Heights being reformed?
The world would still be racist but Zephyr Heights atvleast would be making progress.
I think it would allow the racism to have to be resolved more slowly but allow for a future light hearted slice of life stories in Zephyr Heights while also keeping the goal of changing the world intact.
Basically Sunny and Hitch will still be fugitives from Maretime Bay, but they will return later in Make Your Mark.
I think this also allows G5 Equestria to still remain big and mysterious. And for there to be a goal to strive for. Changing Equestria.
I have to say, Cosmas, I am glad that this isn’t the direction that G5 went in. I don’t think that the whole ‘phobia’ arc needed to last beyond the movie. And considering the fact that the series is centred on Maretime Bay, rather than Zephyr Heights, I would think that having that place get reformed first makes the most sense. After all, Zephyr Heights won’t be a place that’s visited as frequently in the series.

I see what you mean. I guess how the show works is that it's not just about the Mane Five rediscovering magic but the whole community finding it.
Also having it in Maretime Bay does preserves the small town charm of Ponyville from G4.
And I do think that Opaline and Mistmane will give some new interesting tension. I like their dynamic and how Opaline and Mistmane seem to care for each other.
Of course I like to imagine different alternative scenarios and this is one of them.
