UPDATE: Deleting Some Things and Here is Why · 9:08pm Sep 4th, 2022
I have the feeling this is going to make me look fickle or sporadic, but fuck it.
I'm going to be deleting a couple of stories, mostly ones that I'm most likely not going to be getting back to. I'm normally not about just getting rid of the things I wrote for various reasons, but I'm making an exception, for a couple different reasons. And since I don't like to just say "This is gone now, Fuck Y'all", I'm going to try and explain why I feel like getting rid of these things.
Crossroads: This was my first foray into FIMfiction, this story was a fun project initially, despite my lack of knowledge about this site. However, I've not been motivated for it in months. In addition, I have a new Yu-Gi-Oh! project I've been planning out for a couple months now, and I think I'd rather focus on that than leave this here.
The Moon Dances, the Sky Falls: Much like Crossroads, it's a fun project, and I do like the dynamic between Moon Dancer and Sora. However, I'm just not interested in continuing it. As far as crossovers go, I think I've got a few in mind, but this is no longer one of them.
Of Souls, Swords, and Ponies: The little crackshipping gremlin died in a forest fire. That's about the long and short of it. It was a cute little chapter with Siegfried and Twilight, but that was about it. If I were gonna do a Soul Calibur project, it would probably be a full-on Soul Calibur project.
Phantom Wings: Oh boy, the big one... okay, I'm not going to be giving up on the Obsession-verse, it's just I jumped FAR too quickly into Phantom Wings, and now I'm reevaluating my choice. I've felt this way ever since Ch2, and I've only recently realized what it was. Phantom Wings, as it is now, just doesn't jive with how I like delving into character's pasts and traumas.
I'm also just feeling like it's wholly unnecessary; considering the positive reception of 'Obsession' and 'Ambition', I don't think you guys are going to need Indigo's whole life story to care about the struggles of identity she'll face during the EQG years. I'm going to take a bit and figure out exactly where I'm going, building off the base I set up in 'Obsession', 'Ambition', and 'Residual Highs', and I'm going to go from there.
However, because I have cover art, and I just love the title, I will be keeping 'Phantom Wings' as a series title, of sorts. Like how Percy Jackson books are prefaced with 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians', then the actual book's title. The next part, however, will be a direct sequel to the works of Obsession and Ambition, rather than this prequel stuff I was doing.
I'll be deleting them effective 9PM EST tomorrow, and I'll be starting the new projects as soon as I have something to show for them. If some of you are upset and feel like I've wasted your time, I am sorry for that.
Do you really want to delete these? In the end it's your decision but you could always just label them as cancelled and move on. Granted I say this as someone who has only read Phantom Wings out of the fics effected and dislike things being deleted in general but still.
