Initially, this blog was only going to be a meme about how hard deciding whether or not to read Triptych Continuum is for me.
Then, I discovered that I have absolutely no skill at making shareable memes. Like, I can't even figure out what website to use to make them.
So, I'll have to use my words to state my conundrum; Estee's Triptych Continuum is amazing, fascinating worldbuilding and incredible character work combined with a masterful flair for wordsmithing. But the stories are also long, feature incredible amounts of angst, as well as existential horrors which make my soul scream (no thanks, Glimmer, I don't think I'll read you today, I like being able to sleep). I love the world and the character work, except when I don't, then it either makes me sad or horrified. What's a poor, slightly-saner version of the Flower Trio to do?
Reading the shorter Slice of Life and Comedy stories should help. Total Eclipse of the Fun is a great example of a silly Estee multichapter fic.
Go for the short form comedies, they're a little angsty but with catharsis in the form of laughter at the end.

If you want to read the heavier stories, I suggest going slowly, and only reading when you're already in a good place, mentally. That's pretty much how I got through their darker pieces.
