The Saddle Accademy

We finished catching up on Stranger Things, and went right into binging Umbrella Academy because we needed to watch more supernaturally gifted young people suffering.

I loved it, and of course I want to ponify it, tho Harmony knows when I'd write it. Still: One AHDH compensation technique is to write down ideas when I have them so that when I need them I have a million to pick from.

Massive Umbrella Academy Netflix adaption spoilers ahead. I haven't read the comic tho I am going to as soon as I have time and spending bits.

So. Poinfying the Umbrella Academy. This is extremely easy with the Mane 6 + Spike.

#1 Luther, strong/slow, would be Applejack, tho maybe magically beefed up to R63 Applejack size. Or Trouble Shoes size because human to ape ~= pony to horse.
#2 Diego, strong/fast would be RD. Probably the easiest one. Rivalry with AJ a plus.
#3 Allison would be Rarity for being the snooty, glamorous one, tho see below. That Rarijack is my favorite Mane 6 Rarity ship is a plus here.
#4 Klaus would be Pinkie Pie. Also absurdly easy. Maybe fourth wall breaks instead of communing with the dead? It kind'a works for me.
#5 Five would be Twilight because she is the smartest, and can teleport and time travel.
#6 Ben would be Spike, because he's mostly ignored and can turn into a monster.
#7 Vanya/Viktor would be Fluttershy/Scotch with a weaponized stare for that awkward shut-in vibe.

BUT Viktor's apocalyptic sound powers are more unicorny, and the stare is a social power like the rumor. But, while Fluttershy cleans up nice, Rarity could never, ever do shutin or schlub. So it makes more sense to shuffle around the powers or the narrative roles than the characters here.

Celestia would be Reginald, I suppose, and... Luna the Handler? Another area where I would change things around to fit pony better. Luna has some 5-ish and Vikitor-ish traits, too. Pogo is a problem, because Spike is more like him than Ben; I esp. like an older Spike caring for a younger Mane 6.

Honestly if I didn't include a Ben character would anyone notice? :D

And Lila would be Lightning Dust. Maybe Sissy and Harlan are Cream Heart and Button Mash? Timeline issues tho.

Okay, I'm stopping this now.

I'd REALLY like to do a G5 fic, since I've loved what I've seen so far, but I'm behind on it and also it seems like it has a REALLY TINY CAST. Like only five MCs for instance. One is Hitch, Two is Zipp, Three is Pipp, Four is Izzy, Five is... um... Six is... Seven... Dammit the only one left is Sunny and she's a terrible fit for ALL of them.

Argyle would make a decent Reginald, tho.
