Anybody wanna help out with a Warriors fanfiction? · 10:05am Jun 12th, 2022
Hey, so, it's kind of awkward of me to ask, considering how long it has been since I updated my anything here 
but would anybody here be interested in helping me out with my Warriors fanfiction?
I'm almost finished writing the synopsis for the third book, so I'm halfway done, and figured it might be a good idea to have that looked over by somebody else in case some story elements aren't good enough before, you know, they become an integral part of the entire story and changing them would mean changing something in the other half of the arc.
Buuut here's a problem. In my wonderful proofreading-editing team, nobody has read Warriors, so their feedback wouldn't be perfect, plus some of them are very busy in real life right now and as such they can't exactly spare time to go over a fanfiction of something they aren't interested in.
So since I know a few of my readers here had read Warriors I was wondering if you'd be interested in looking over the synopsis of the story, to tell me what you think of the plot, point out anything that doesn't make sense (since, you know, I wrote it so I wouldn't notice as it obviously makes sense to me 
), make suggestions if you think something could be done better (especially in the scenes I left comments saying I'm not sure about something), and suggest titles of books, the entire arc, and names of characters (got also Allegiances for the first book, but only the Clan that will be focused on is done, all the others I only have names of Clan leaders, deputies, medicine cats and few others; btw, a joke: What do you get when you have a fanfic writer who continually finds coming up with names the most annoying part of writing come up with an idea to write an entire Warriors arc fanfiction where every character - except for a few StarClan spirits - being original? A drinking problem! ). You wouldn't have to worry about proofreading and editing the actual story when I'll finally start writing it, as my team will have that covered; unless you'd be willing to give that a try as well, let me know you'd be interested.
I will have the synopsis done within a day or two; afterwards I plan to finally resume working on Rebirth of the Damned. I'll admit it's a bit hard to motive myself to start proper writing again, but fortunately the next few chapters are meant to be short and I happen to have the next 4 days free, so I SHOULD be able to make some progress at least.
Once again sorry for the lack of updates as of late, I hope this will improve 
PS: Forgot to add, another thing I would ask while going over the synopsis is that you'd make sure this could be still considered "a Warriors story". You know, that it would still be something that could be read by the same age group. Unfortunately for me that means I'll have to watch out for most of the adult-ish humor that I can't seem to stop inserting everywhere while retaining all the brutality. So yeah, help me find that bizarre balance xD (Basically, let me know if some moments seem too "mature", because as I'm sure one of my editors would agree even while doing my best to not insert that stuff my brain will DEFINITELY slip something in 
)

I wish my local library didn't literally burn down a few years ago, otherwise I would finally start reading the Warriors series, I've heard a lot of good about it

Oh you should definetly give it a read, it's amazing^^ I myself bought all the books but the first two I read from a library too, pity yours burned down. You could always buy an ebook from amazon, first two for start to see if it captivates you; I would recommend two, while the first is good on its own, with second come a lot more of "Game of Thrones like" intrigues into it which cause you more invested in the series.

Btw, you might find this funny: a few days ago while I was driving during work, a song was playing with a word "glory" in it. Naturally this automatically made me think of Morning Glory from PH, but at the same time I also thought this time: "Hm, Glory would actually be a neat and unique name for a Warrior cat... Glorykit, Glorypaw, Glorysomething... Yeah, it could work. Actually, a lot of ponies' names would work well as Warriors names, I mean after all there was even Morningflower-
...

Really, that was my thought process, with a pause for the realization xD To my amazement I had already created a side character that actually resembled her a lot; she's from SkyClan so that's the closest I'd get to a pegasus, she's a medicine cat, she's permanently crippled (though she loses her eyes not a limb; amusingly Morning Glory had also lost eyes briefly but she got them healed thanks to Hydra hadn't she?), and due to various reasons she wouldn't get with the one who she loved and would have to wait a long time for him in the afterlife.
So yeah, hadn't planned it but I somehow subconsciously created a cat version of Morning Glory apparently. However decided against changing her name, I mean for one thing "Morningglory" is a bit weird on the eyes, even though such names with last letter of prefix and first of suffix doubling like this, but it's still weird, and kinda don't really wanna name any character exactly like some other fictional characters; I already had to fight myself to not name another cat "Darkmaul"

Ah, no particular reason really, just needed to come up with like 30 characters for this, with personalities, looks, parentage, mentors, needed to come up with some past stuff, and so on. Played around with this character being an apprentice of a former "villain" in the past (past so distant that at the time of my story taking place only elders and some of the senior warriors were alive during those events), and when I thought that one up a line of Darth Maul came to my head "I was an apprentice to the most powerful being in the galaxy. I was meant for... so much more." Hence Darkmaul. That being said, while that name is technically possible in Warriors world, I think it's way too big of a reference. I more or less decided on Maulclaw though, but I'm yet unsure if I go with this background; he is a minor character anyway.
