Second Chances: Reunion.

In my newest story, Sombra, after being destroyed, is exiled to earth. The fallen prince works for the US military and finds a young winged human, experimented on since he was born. The former prince is disgusted by what the child went through and he takes pity on the boy, deciding to take him under his wing, acting as a father figure. Down the line, the two create a father-son bond. Despite not being of the same blood, they deeply care about each other and treat one another like family.

Due to Sombra's change of heart and rebirth through saving the boy, Harmony itself, the Elements Of Harmony sense him and bring him back to Equestria.

Sombra and his adoptive son(I'm calling him Dean Hayes), are found by Celestia and Luna. Due to how exhausted both of them are, they pass out.

Sombra and Celestia reunite, eventually deciding to date once more. Dean hears of this and supports his father. Over time, Dean sees a mother in Celestia, eventually seeing her as his true mother.

Celestia learns of what Dean went through as a child. His parents weren't very good people. They tried to create the ultimate human resistant to pain and other conditions, The genetic mutations caused by the chemicals caused wings to form.

Princess Celestia stared at her beloved briefly before staring at Dean, who was shaking uncontrollably on the ground. She went to calm him down, only to be swatted away by his right wing which had wrapped around him instinctively as a defence measure,

Celestia looked him over as she noticed scars all over his body. Many of them had healed over and turned gray as a result of his enhanced healing due to the harmony magic of Equestria. Her eyes widened in shock and horror at the sight. She'd seen many wars when she first became a princess, it wasn't her first time. But for these wounds to be inflicted on a child was horrendous.

"What happened to him?" The alabaster mare whispered, horrified at the sight. Sombra sighed, squeezing her shoulder as he kneeled down to try and comfort his son.

The black unicorn's fists clenched tightly in anger. "His parents tried to create the perfect human, which is his species. The mutations occured as side effects, giving him wings and retractable hawk-like talons on the end of his fingers. His sight was altered, giving him the view and perception akin to that of an eagle or a hawk. They had documents, pictures and videos of him being experimented on. They tortured him." Sombra growled, his expression switching to that of guilt, sorrow and eventually sympathy.

"D-Dad?" Dean croaked weakly, his throat sore as his eyes brimmed with tears of pain. He struggled to get up. He felt too weak and too exhausted.

"I'm here, son. I'm here." Sombra whispered softly, using some of his magic to heal his wounded son. Dean hissed as the wounds briefly flared with white hot pain before calming down and eventually fading away. He sighed, falling asleep as his father took care of him.

Sombra wanted to find the boy's parents and burn them alive. Not even he would have the gall to fatally harm or murder a child. Even he had standards!

Celestia flared her magic, teleporting the three of them to her room. She didn't want anyone else overhearing Dean's story. It was his to tell when he'd be comfortable enough to.

The alabaster mare sat on her bed, teleporting the boy next to her as she laid his head in her lap. She gently ran her hand through his hair, using her stronger magic to try and heal more of his wounds. His body jerked slightly, his wings instinctively attempting to curl around his body.

Celestia wanted to be a mother figure for the boy. He'd need one. After all, to him, Sombra was his father and since the both of them were dating, that would eventually make her Dean's adoptive stepmother.

"I swear to you that I will try and be the best mother that I can to you. I promise." Celestia whispered softly to the boy, her voice motherly.

"You'd be a great mom, Celly. He needs one, badly. We're going to be the best parents that we can for him." Sombra said, walking over to his marefriend as he sat on the bed next to her, letting her head rest on his shoulder.

This was going to be their future. They were going to be a family and nothing could stop them from being that.
