I. Have had. A day. · 4:14am May 9th, 2022

So, for context, this is how my week has been so far.

-Monday and Tuesday: wiped out from the previous work week.
-Wednesday: Strangely super busy. Got my shit ran.
-Thursday: Really slow, rather quiet. Quite peaceful, which was nice... Until 7:30 when we were suddenly packed... a half hour till close.
-Friday: Absolutely awful, I got slammed all night. It was so bad, that the other guy got sent back (from working on the pizza side as help) at 7. Rest of the night after that smooths out slightly.
-Saturday: I went in at 2:45 because it was Graduation. I did surprisingly well despite how busy it was. Other guy shows up at 4 and the night went quite smooth, even though it was still incredibly busy. I clocked out at 10:30 PM. I try and get to sleep early (Midnight, which is actually early for me.) Because tomorrow I'm going in in the morning because I always help on Mother's Day. It's one of the busiest days of the year, right next to Valentine's Day.

Today:

I woke up at 7:30 this morning. Couldn't get back to sleep. Eat a little breakfast and veg for a bit until I tire out. Try and go back to sleep around 9. I think I fall asleep at 9:30. Woke back up at about 10. So, very little sleep.

I got into work at 11:38 AM. There's a 40-top upstairs, which I get in pieces throughout the day. I manage to stay on top of everything to the point where I just tell people to leave stuff because I can take care of it. Then 2:30 rolls around. I get smashed with stuff and I don't know the source. Thankfully one of the girls on the pasta-side came back to run things.

I'm dead tired by 4. The sink is empty when the other guy shows up. Just to make sure that everything's squared away, I clock out at 4:28 and head home.

I just want to sit. It's been a long day. I'm in the middle of playing Elden Ring. I just killed the Runebear in the Consecrated Snowfields (the one that drops the Larval Tear) so I can respec back to Arcane, because I adore status effects and Bleed and Frost are busted.

6:28. My phone rings. I was gone for two hours!

Boss: "Hey you doing anything?"
Me: "Is it bad?"
Boss: "Think you could come back in?"
Me: "I'll be right there."
Boss: "I'll give you some extra cash."

I get there within 5 minutes.

Little context for what happened before I got there. So before I left there was a party that just showed up. We weren't taking any more reservations because we're packed enough as it is and the book was already full. So. A group of Twenty-One showed up. "We called and tried to make a reservation, but we couldn't so we just decided to show up." They get put on the patio.

The twenty-one leaving backed up the sink something terrible.

So I get there and it's a fucking mess. I take over. I'm already dead tired and I still get that shit knocked out. I even manage to leave before 9:30. And the boss gave me a $50 too.

I'm so incredibly exhausted.
