So yeah, Space Wars Day or whatever

Honestly I've been checked out on Star Wars for a long time: longer than before the new trilogy came around to sour it even further. I mean I technically still write Star Wars, though it's nothing that can be accepted by any ol' fan. For one thing, the Ssi-Ruuk are regularly represented, and another is that they're not presented as their original selves. Still a shame they're so under-utilized in the mythos, only appearing in only two or three books out of the whole EU. What a fine day that would be if they're made canon; I'd watch the hell out of whatever medium they show up in and be ready to properly judge their representation. But that's not gonna happen, because that will be the day I give a crap about current Star Wars, and the franchise has moved on well past my sorry crotchety self.

So today I'll pour myself some leftover Walpurgisnacht sima and raise a toast to their memory in the EU, as well as their present state in my own ongoing mythos. Raise a glass, one and all, to those wily space dinos. Skål! *Hearty Sip*

(By the by, I learned there's this series called the Quintaglio Ascension trilogy that is all about space dinos, so I'll be giving that a looksie at some point. The spirit lives on!)
