Windstorm Woes · 2:34am Apr 15th, 2022

Wind... nothing but heavy wind... for multiple days of the past few weeks...

Hey everyone, just thought I'd let you all know what's been happening where I live. Well, as you could probably guess from the title of the post, it's been extremely windy. We've had some back-to-back windstorms for the past few weeks, and they always seems to happen during my "weekends" (Tuesday-Thursday) from work.

Because of this, I can't get outside very much. I'm fine with a light breeze, but these are immense gusts exceeding 60mph (95km/h for you Metric users). The air could be blowing that fast for hours nonstop. Other than one stray, late snowstorm we got earlier this week, there hasn't been much in the way of local weather that could be the cause of this. Given that no storms are forecast in my area, I decided to investigate further, using the MyRadar app.

From the look of it, the airflow in the region I live seems to be in conjunction with a large, cyclone-like storm over Canada, which I have been monitoring the path of over the past few days. At the start of the week, the eye of this extratropical cyclone was over British Columbia, before it moved over Ontario and the Great Lakes, and, at the time of this blog posting, is now dissipating over Quebec and New England. Overall, the wind seems to have been flowing as a result of the cyclone's vortex accelerating it, drawing in warmer air into the low-pressure system. I'm not a meteorologist, so this is just my best guess.

In any case, I just wanted to let you all know... I AM DONE WITH THE FUCKING WIND! :twilightangry2: :flutterrage:

Here's hoping the weather is better sometime next week. And I hope those of you in the Eastern US have held in there despite the extreme precipitation you've had. Also, I hope everyone is doing fine, whether it be weather, things in your personal or professional life, or... a certain aggressive action in eastern Europe instigated by one power-hungry, inconsolable autocrat...

But enough about that. Just figured I'd post something, given it's been a while since my last blog post. So, hope this was something that piqued your interest!

Yeah, and I am. It's just been a real hassle with trying to really do anything outside.
