Turning various Paladins Champions into DND Characters · 2:20am Jan 24th, 2022
Some of you may not know, but I've been playing the Free to play Overwatch clone, Paladins. I never played Overwatch, since I'm not a fan of paying $60 for an online only game. That, and the lore isn't that great in my opinion, since it's about Robot Rights, meaning it paved way for Detroit: Become Human and it's various, hit on the head symbolism for racism when it's centered around robots, a man made creation, and not actual humans.
Here, I enjoy the Lore a bit, as it began similar to Overwatch, but altered just a bit to stand out. Long story short, the Lore is this:
-Various warriors protected earth against Demons and drove them back into the Abyss.
-With the world safe, The Paladins disbanded, with the active members forming the government called The Magistrate.
-Magical crystals were made, and pushed technology ahead with creations like electricity, mech suits, and guns, but various accidents came, and other people used them for selfish gains.
-The Magistrate started an all out ban/hunt for these machines and take them away from the common folk.
-Some Magistrate members left and joined some other special individuals to form The Resistance, which wants the common people to use this tech and make life easy.
-Various people from far lands join the Resistance, some for the Resistance's beliefs, and others for their own reasons.
So, that's the lore in a nutshell. There's more, but I won't bother you all more than I need to. Now, it's the nerdy move to show you how I DND-ified the various champions of Paladins! To make it easy on me and you, I've only selected 2 characters in the 4 main play areas, and each being from The Magistrate and Resistance respectively. The 4 main play areas are as follows:
-Damage: Usually well rounded Characters that deal a good amount of damage and are tanky enough to take a few hits before dying.
-Flank: Glass canons that deal high damage, but can be killed easily, and work best at attacking blind spots.
-Frontline: The Tanks who have a shield and protect allies, keeping them alive.
-Support: The healers of the team.

Strix is The Sniper for The Magistrate. Ingame, he has an ability that lets him become invisible for a few seconds, and he swaps between a Sniper rifle and an automatic pistol. I figured a Rogue will do because he's not really supposed to be in the battle, but also remains hidden. Scout Rogues are also fairly fast, and can be see non magical Rangers.

Cassie was a bit hard to nail on for the background. Her main thing was that she couldn't leave home to join the Resistance, but got her chance with the help of a strange Sage. But her bird was easy enough to tell me she would be a Ranger, lol

Skye was the easiest character
to make for this idea. Dark elves in D&D get a serious boner for murder, and Skye perfectly fits in that as well. Weird how she's a part of the Magistrate

Yes folks... that's a Monk with a shotgun. And yes, he was a criminal before he became a monk. If that doesn't sound like a DND character, you've never truly played DND, lol

The leader of the Magistrate himself, and a bit responsible for everything that goes wrong in universe because he unintentionally made a pact with the Abyss. And some pacts in DND are usually unintentional, so in a way, Corvus is a victim of circumstances.

The Angel herself. Though in Lore, she became the vessel of an angel after losing a close friend/lover because Corvus sacrificed them to the Abyss, being a real angel is much cooler in my opinion.
So what do you all think? Want more? Think you'd like to try Paladins? It's free, so even if you don't like it, you didn't lose any money at all.
