Daily Dose of Music #129: Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver · 7:24pm Jan 7th, 2022
Fun fact: John Denver was born in Roswell, New Mexico. Bet he was an alien.
Death smiles at us all; all a man can do is smile back.
Fun fact: John Denver was born in Roswell, New Mexico. Bet he was an alien.
Fun fact #2: John Denver was born on December 31, 1943--over three years before Roswell became known for alien activity. Also, the alleged crash site was over 70 miles away, closer to Corona than Roswell.
In all seriousness, though, it's been over 25 years since the first time I heard this song, and it's still my favorite.
I love John Denver!

I didn't realize that! That's truly fascinating!
In all my time knowing about Roswell, I never knew this. Thank you so much; I'll need to keep this in mind for the future.
Also, I'm glad it's your favorite. I've honestly never been huge on it, but I have a lot of respect for how well written the song is as a whole. John Denver was a genius at music—even if it doesn't resonate with me like it does with many others.

It honestly surprised me how I hadn't used one of his songs yet. I thought I had, but I guess I hadn't.
Dunno why, but whenever I hear this song, I envision myself riding in an old Ford pickup down a dusty country road. The trees rustling lightly as a simple breeze makes its way through. The scent of poplar and magnolia in the air as the summer sun beats down on my face.
