Musings about paradoxes... · 8:51pm Jan 6th, 2022
Hello, everyone.
I hope the New Year is going great for you so far. :)
Well... I'm not very sure of how much of a right I have to just use this as a source for diatribes, so to speak, especially given I'm still so new around here, but... regarding what I say in my main profile about you hopefully enjoying whatever content I put forth... I confess I have been wondering about what kind of pursuit it would be...
As for why I muse on this... well... I will admit it has to do with my views on my own ideas.
On one end, my current main idea for a big fic project involves a scenario that, from what I understand, has already been tried a thousand times before.
On the other, my personal interpretations and headcanons and the like of certain things probably are so out there that they border on the absurd.
Also... I will admit to being someone who applies certain doses of Fanon Discontinuity to later parts of both the parent series and Equestria Girls (mostly due to timeline issues, but also due to some characterization ones), while at the same time still liking a lot of late series content and characters (to give some examples of the latter that I understand are seen as controversial, the new changelings, Flurry Heart, the Student Six, and Tempest Shadow), which well... I guess doesn't really bode well for me from a reception point of view.
Don't get me wrong, I don't write for the comments. And to anyone wondering, yes, I have been writing (almost exclusively on the fanfic front) for years now. And well... I'm also not expecting my ideas to be universally beloved. Heck, if anything, I'm probably more used to my ideas being seen as 'out there' as of late (at least if silence from most of the fanbase of other fandoms I write for is meant to convey them thinking the ideas are 'out there').
Still... well... I guess I couldn't help but wonder on this particular front, given I don't think I ever wrote fanworks for any media with such a large fanbase.
Thank you to all who took the time read this. :) Take care, everyone!
The best piece of advice that I can give is to write the story that you want to read, and leave it at that. It worked for me, it worked for Stan Lee, and it tends to work for most people.

Well... I wish I had something better than what follows to say in response... but still, please know I mean it when I say this: thank you for taking the time to give me that advice, as well as for taking the time to read my musings.
I appreciate both. :)
