The last research paper I worked on has published at last.

The process is REALLY slow. I finished all my work on this 3 years ago.

This one uses a lot of my histology and in-situ hybridization with RNAscope results.

But no more science for me. Now I build houses and driveways... and rip them apart too! It's a sort of yin-yang thing I've got going here.

A comedic scene from a new Clouseua story I'm fiddling with...

I just came up with this, and imagining Peter Sellers delivering the line had me laughing for 5 minutes straight.

Clouseau, "For you see, the murderer was... the bullet!"

    Guy in room, "The bullet?"

Clouseau, "Of course, no one would suspect the bullet of firing itself!"

Woman in room, "But that... that's madness!"

THE PIRATE KING BREAKS THE NETFLIX ANIME ADAPTATION CURSE!!!

Only the Pirate King could do it...

It's as good as possible. You cannot do such a goofy anime any better than this, and it's GREAT! I friggin LOVED it.

Last call for Bronycon items up on Ebay!

I'll be delisting all remaining MLP items Sept 1st to focus entirely on selling my huge stash of collectible magazines, which take up vastly more space than the MLP items. Everything here fits into a single flat box I can pick up with one hand. The magazines... weigh over 700 lbs total. Sooooo, kinda makes sense to deal with those ASAP!

An Arctic blast is building... prepare for a REALLY cold winter! · 5:37pm Nov 22nd, 2021

Been watching the weather patterns, something I've done for 35 years and gotten REALLY good at predicting seasonal trends.

One clue is Alaska. If Alaska gets a massive cold streak in Nov, it usually means FRIGID waves of air pouring down into the lower 48 States starting in December.

Anchorage, AK's usual high at this time of year is 26F. The average low is15F.

Since Nov. 9th, Anchorage has been below normal. Since Nov 15th, the HIGH temperatures each day have been BELOW the average low temperature. There have been already 6 days where the low was below zero. It's now averaging 16 degrees below normal, and for at least the next full 12 days in the long-term forecasts, the high will likely not even reach above 10F.

This trend is similar across most of Alaska, and is a quite unusually long frigid streak. My decades of analysis tell me that this means we could see polar vortices of extreme cold starting very soon. I expect the coldest winter in much of the Lower 48 since the winter of 2013-14.

On the plus side, this would kill off the egg masses of those damned spotted lantern flies we've had infesting EVERYWHERE in the Northeast. Their eggs die if they experience sustained cold below 15F.

I started a new job in January, 2015, and they kept me outside for a month and a half. It was below freezing everyday that whole time.

Good thing I work indoors now!

5610089 I'm sticking out of work for the winter, just going to poke about at possible jobs until I've gotten everything cleaned and fixed at home, and complete the sale of the rental house down the street.

I've been busy pretty much every day. There's so much that had accumulated while I was over-worked in the lab.

Of course, I'm STILL going after them for wrongful termination. Just waiting for the THOUSANDS of lawsuits to coalesce into class-action. Especially now that the 5th Circuit made that SCATHING rebuke of the mandates.

Good luck with that; hope things all fall in your favor.

5610093 Here comes the cold! Geez, it's 9F in Amarillo, TX right now... and a stupid cold -20F in Fargo, ND.

It's gonna feel like winter this week. Time to wrap the fig tomorrow before the cold blast hits.

Couldn't be a cold/white Christmas/New Years, nooooo. It's gotta be relatively warm and wet the WHOLE holiday WEEK.
To paraphrase Vivasector from the Furry Force: "I welcome the freeze."

5623466 I needed it to get more outdoor stuff done. Now everything's as ready as I can get it.

And just in time, cuz now the forecast is saying 6 inches of snow tomorrow!

Maybe down by you. In Toms River it's just a dusting and absolutely nothing up in Piscataway where I work. Mother Nature's a B:yay:ch and I want to kick her.

5623915 The storm didn't really get going. It looks like most of it went offshore and we just got the edge. It's about an inch here. Which is fine! Now I can get out to the post office.
