I was lucky enough to see them live when they teamed up with legendary art rock and early electronica band Sparks to form FFS. Two for One!

For me it was more about seeing Sparks, as Ron and Russell Mael are both getting up there in years, and as a rock pianist, Ron is certainly one of the most idiosyncratic keyboardist in rock (the keyboardist character in the music video for 'Coming Up" by Paul McCartney is a tribute to him). Franz Ferdinand was just an awesome bonus! It was a fantastic show at a great local Orange County midsize venue called "The Observatory". Another time saw garage rock legends The Sonics there for ten bucks! And in their smaller side venue, The Constellation Room, saw a fantastic standing room only set by The Lemon Twigs! sorry now I'm just kind of bragging about great shows I've seen there I'll stop lol.
