Preservation of stories · 8:22am Oct 29th, 2021
I am writing this blog post with the sudden deletion of some if not my favorite stories from the website when i checked my favorites. Though i am not here to complain as i know sometimes these stories were deleted due to unlikelyhood to update, author deletion, author deleting account, or any number of reason.
This made me glad that i could go to fimfetch to read all of the delete stories, but it also made me think of how both online stories and novels are kept in this day and age. Novels and stories that, though the characters and world used from the stories often revolve around a work from another, it doesn't mean that our stories didn't stand out on its own, often possibly being a great stories without needing to borrowing the character or world.
Often the preservation of stories is done by those that want to keep them for future readers to enjoy it should they dissapear or done by those who beleive it to be an injustice to the reader regardless of the circumstances of how the story was deleted, in either case they either create an specific algorithm to do it for them, or they often do it my typing themselves.
With that in mind with the vast amounf of stories that the fandom made not all possible stories are able to preserve and thats ok. As although the deletion of a story and lack of preservation of it might be bad, it doesn't mean that there won't be someone out there that wouldn't also thought of the same idea or premise just to write it again. Though it might be similar it might be good enough for some.
The blog was written as a mixture of a rant, a passing thought from my head and boredom. Also sorry if it looks weird it was typed using mobile.
