Latin is (to my knowledge) actually used in some form of mathematics... Quode Erod Demonstratum.
Not sure if i spelled that right, but it makes the acronym QED.

A lot of words come from Latin. Not only words, but the common alphabet is of Latin origin as well.

Btw i don't know what i feel is weirder, that, or the fact that it took me all of 1 second to translate the Latin in this post.

Bear in mind the only Latin i know the translation of definitively is Requiescat In Pace or Rest In Peace.
