    Part Thirty-Two

    Day Three-Hundred and Thirty-Four.

    Bionic leg for Hallie.

Oh. It was a techprof persona core, not a regular persona core. You used it for research, not starship control. Oh well. Use to learn FTL drive then, Stab, arriving back at base, guessed.

    More Lenere tribe visitors.

Stab ordered the wall where the ship would go to be thickened up.

    Part Twenty-Two

((Added "faster bio-sculpting" mod, since the 25 days thing is ridonculous. Vanilla values used, except bioregen time set to 10 days (as it was before the change) instead of 25.))

    Day Two-Hundred and Fifty-One.

Two bionic eyes done. Navarro - your turn!

Stab authorised four more sleep accelerators for Trocur, Worm, Oscura and Reille plus Barracuda.

    Part Eighteen

Day Two-Hundred and Twenty-Four, several times...

((No clue as to the temperature thing. After much reloading experimentation, the only thing that worked was moving the new heaters to the outer corridor. No idea why rooms near the other larger corridors weren't affected.

Also, the over-wall cooler in the dining room was backwards. Dammit.))

    Restructuring happened.

Part Fourteen

ALL CHANGE! With 106.3 hours logged in, and increasingly the management portion becoming difficult to deal with, I felt it was time to add in a few more mods.

EdB Prepare Carefully
(Not that it will affect THIS game...!)

Common Sense, Pick up and Haul, Hospitality

Wall Lights, Autocleaner, Doormats RT Fuse

So, more lights (that don't have to be in the way!), a robot cleaner that MIGHT not be as necessary with the addition of having people CLEAN THEIR CRAP UP, doormats to not tread so much dirt in, better hauling and maybe doing something with random gusts and stuff.

Day One Hundred and Eighty-Six.

With the dorms well underway, Stab decided it was real time the kitchen was moved and expanded.

They'd put it near the freezer, but off the main trek-through route, and add a freezer entrance to the first freezer. (Rather than replace, so it reduced the time to get food out to the kitchen, but also not to the table.

...

Okay, the table and chairs in Stab's bedroom was NOT a good idea, since everyone wanted to eat in there instead of the main barracks. Whoops.

Take that out.

Navarro and Sam would be out for four or so days getting biosculpted.

More peace talks. Yeah, maybe if Stab could be arsed.

Day One Hundred and Eighty-Seven.

Everyone FINALLY had their own bedroom!

Except the cooler was built backwards. Ooops.

And THAT was why Barracuda had gotten a double bed built. Heck, soon Stab would have a SPARE bedroom!

Oh, light without having to BLOCK anything! Joyous day!

((On the downside, it was lovely having Common Sense to in theory make everyone clean rooms before use, but them you remember SAWBONES WON'T CLEAN. Frackdammit.))

A load of wandering chickens joined the colony.

Yay...?

New kitchen was done! (With two work stations now.)

And the butchery was moved into its new place (longer to take the meat - and fetch the corpses, yes, but less distance to take the skins), and it wasn't in anyone's way. Corpse freezer was maybe another job for later. The tailor’s bench was moved into its own little room, which meant the second stone-cutting bench was moved into the workshop, leaving space for that second fabrication bench eventually.

Day One Hundred and Eighty-Eight.

Hurrah! Stab finally finished the bionic arm. Operation time!

First bionic installed.

The little table wen in the lab, since Dusk and Oscura kept eating without a table in there. Stab, meanwhile decided that, dammit, it was time she had a hex-floored bedroom!

Third biosculptor pod, since they'd got those sterile tiles left from before...

Sawbones got to dye his gear. (They really needed more flak vests.)

Day One Hundred and Eighty-Nine.

Falcon would go into the third pod.

The component bottleneck was getting really annoying.

But at least her bedroom was extremely nice!

Day One Hundred and Ninety.

Summer!

Future location for another ten bio-sculpting pods...

But next, the second kill zone.

Which was going to get a lot done on it, since a solar flare struck, so Stab (who was otherwise set to craft priority to get those damned components out) would end up helping after all...

Aaand that would also mean Sam and Falcon would lose an entire day in the biosculpting pods. Dammit.

Esdo was on a fire-starting jag again... It was Euphemia's turn.

You know... Esdo was no longer ESPECIALLY necessary, right?

Next time they got a potential recruit, Stab thought that MAYBE Esdo would accidently get, like, harvested.

Day One Hundred and Ninety-One.

Oops. Poor Kasil was still restricted to the base area, which hadn't been expanded to her bedroom...

Sam was out of the age regen, but she'd be going back in shortly for some health regen. See, the biosculpting pod would ALSO fix scars if it was the only damage!

A load of Higobom Covenant raiders were coming, wanting to bombard the colony with mortars. Yeah, Stab didn't think so...

That was nasty.

((FRAG. DAMMIT. I NEED components!))

Oh. There were fourteen from the raid. (Well, four of those would be needed to give Trocur ANOTHER EYE. Seriously, it was ridiculous, Trocur was going to have more cyborg parts than anyone else in the base and SHE didn't even want them!)

((Oh. MY. FRAG. Everyone is picking up a sensible amount of gear, instead of one item/stack at a time. I know they've been doing that since I installed Pick up and Haul, but this is first time it's been so evident!))

Dan, Macy and Navarro had gotten nastily shot-up too. And Beatriz and fracking hell, seriously.

And THIS was why Stab had put off doing a raid, with Sam and Falcon out. When they were back, THEN Stab would look at heading out.

Day One Hundred and Ninety-Two.

Well, frack it. While they had some spare component, Stab would have a second neural supercharger FINALLY built. Wait, no, - BUILD A SECOND FABRICATION BENCH!

Stupid Rhino, setting off the traps and making Dusk reset them instead of building the fabrication bench...

(Stab, at least, was working on that new eye...)

Trocur, ironically, was already up and fully healed, bat the missing parts.

A quartet of wild muffalos were wandering by. Stab looked at them, and decided that at least one Muffalo would be better than the yak. Stab considered hunting the others (breeding seemed a bit slow), but given the 10% chance of something going wrong... Better not take the risk right now, right?

Hmm. That rhino was downed. Rescue it? Turn it into a pet? If it survived, it was awfully close to bleeding out. Though maybe that would make it easy to tame?

Vitals monitors were researched!

The new basic fuses would be next, they were quick.

Day One Hundred and Ninety-Three.

Okay. So all the eggs were fertilised, which meant if stab DIDN'T have them taken to the freezer, maybe they'd hatch into chickens? She would experiment with a two-square storage zone inside the butchery, where it was temperature stable and close to the pens and animals couldn't be taken inside and see what happened.

Stab had finished the eye! Trocur wasn't going to be one-eyed for very long!

Basic fuses done!

Second fabrication bench done too. That would double the slow, slow rate they made components...

And there we shall leave it.

Part Fifteen

Day One Hundred and Ninety-Four.

No, there was ENTIRELY no point in rescuing the bleeding-out rhino, since is made no difference to the taming chance and Navarro was back to the sickbay.

Time to move the animals out into their own place to sleep, where it was not, y'know, dirtying the base more.

Stab was also going to build a set of marble shelves in the main ex-barracks and have it set for simple meals, so hopefully everyone would stop eating o9tuside or in strange places all the time and maybe not to many trips to the freezer, too. Stab hoped the turn-over would mean that the food wouldn't have time to spoil.

Okay, the game does not distinguish in stocking between ruined fertilised eggs and unruined. Fantastic. Aside from adding a mod, the solution seemed to be to forbid the unruined eggs and have a special order until the ruined eggs were all used up.

Insane mad rat INSIDE the base. Annoying.

TROCUR, FRACKING REALLY?!

Trying to convert STAB?

((For FRACK'S SAKE game, the YOU pick the TWO CHARACTERS that EXPLICTLY the colony hinges on to take out JUST before I freaking save.))

Okay, let's try building a second table in the dining room. They'd steal three chairs from the rec-room.

Circuit breakers were researched - mortars next.

Stab authorised the construction of three circuit breakers - that was enough in theory to halt the discharge form nine batteries (they still only had eight).

Falcon was out - get back in and heal that scar, Falc.

((And sapper raiders showed up. FRACK. OFF. Game. You are NOT obviating the point of walls by having EVERY. SINGLE. RAID. Ignore them. Reload.

No, you are not now having a heat wave. Reload.))

Day One Hundred and Ninety-Five.

A massive wave of manhunting Yorkshire terriers.

...

Okay, whatever, fine.

Everyone NOT currently injured, carrying EMPs, in biosculpting pods or carrying melee weapons to the fortifications.

Since fortunately, the buggers were heading that way.

Considering all the bets fighters were out, that went not too bad.

Okay, there were a few components, now, so... steel autodoors on the inner freezer entrances.

Okay, one of the better jade sculptures to be put in the dining room. This brought it up to impressive, and thus maximising he conversion impact. Trocur.

Sam was up and was like "what'd I miss oh wow..."

Masterful, at least...

And it dropped Trocur's belief... 18%. Wait, no hang on... 82% in Aotrs...?! It worked?! Finally?! HUZZAH!

Stab nearly had a sleep accelerator built right there and then until she realised they used 5 components.

Day One Hundred and Ninety-Six.

Oh thank frag, a bulk good trader.

Empty them out of components first!

Okay. They also had animals.

After serious consideration, Stab elected that they needed to a) sell the sheep (the pregnant ones could be held until they gave birth and then slaughtered) and replace the boars (likewise) with pigs, so Stab bought two male and two female. Stab ALSO thought that animals that could haul were good to have so she also bought two male and female labradors.

The new pet shed needed expansion, now, and the pen growth was going to take a hit for a bit.

Visitors from the Black Empire. Oh yeah, Stab could now actually but some guest beds in...

Stan assured them they were almost certainly safe for organ harvesting. Probably.

She'd better make some more beds to the barrack, though. (This seemed a good way of trying to get goodwill other than by quest rewards.)

Okay, Stab needed to up an area, and allow shopping (if she didn't want to give them free food). Freezer Prime would need to be cleared of medicines (since Stab didn't want anyone buying that), but otherwise would be set to enable shopping.

There. They would see how that went.

Pen expansion...

Right, with 26 components, a reasonable store at last, Stab could authorise some more neural superchargers. (Three, to start with.) She'd also have six flak vests made, and the freezer's other doors set to auto-doors. That was 12+6+6, so nearly all the stock, but that would do.

Hey, idiots, don't be wearing tainted clothing! Get rid of it, numpties!

Okay, Stab had finished this batch of components - she elected to make that dang autocleaner next.

'Kay. Needed to set the guest manually to the guest zone, since the map settings apparently didn't apply to the current guests.

Day One Hundred and Ninety-Seven.

Relaxing socially... In the FREEZER?

I... Huh?

Ooops, Industrial Advent time again. Actually if Stab and co were quick, they could build an altar and kneel pillows. And, since they had the big floor thing in the throne room, they didn't really need the ritual spot now. Heck, they might as well put a marriage spot in the same place!

Oh guests would help around too (if they had a higher enough skill, fortunately, 7 was plenty). Neat.

Hmm. Hex-tile flooring the throne was impractical, but sandstone tiles with a nice white hex-cloth CARPET would be. Later, of course...

There. Industrial Advent time!

And more betterer, too!

(Poor Falcon, she was going to miss it!)

ESPINOSZA! There's no need for that kind of language in this colony! And on Industrial Advent too! You should be ashamed of yourself! Lord Death Despoil is giving you the "I'm not mad I'm disappointed" look at you right now. Really! What a potty-mouth.

And a fun time was had by all, DESPITE Espinoza's disgusting language.

Huh. We've had lots of animals all that time, but this is the first bond that's happened. Maybe only Advanced trained animals can do that?

Day One Hundred and Ninety-Eight.

RIGHT. With Industrial Advent out of the way, Stab could consider Doing some Raiding again.

Okay, the visitors were leaving. 138 silver, and +18 goodwill, which was better. Neat.

Eclipse. And they seemed to be suddenly drawing a lot of power when they seemed alright before.

Whelp, looked like the next job was going to have to be the next geothermal plant. Which they now didn't have enough components for, obviously. Still, they walls and power conduit could be done first.

Autocleaner online!

Oh hey, Falcon's brother was passing through with a caravan.

And he was a pyromaniac. Good job he was only staying for a visit then, weren't it? (Ha, he'd also probably miss her, since she was still 1.6 days from leaving the pod...)

Okay, the bases were now defended by five dudes, so they'd wait for Falcon to come out first. Eh, nothing to buy or do except dump spare weapons.

Hmm. Well, Stab WAS planning on going on a raid anyway...

The circadian half-cycler was interesting. However, it was apparently best used on crafters and constructors. And, of COURSE, pretty much all of the crafters had skills that WOULD be negatively affected.

So Macy, who was good at construction and art and not all that much else (and was regulated the EMP grenades anyway) seemed like she would be the only logical choice. (Stab went for this over the LMG since the reward with something that could knock people out, e.g., possibly during mental breaks...?)

Dammit, leather got left in the doorways, which lead to a couple of the animals getting in the storage room.

((Pause to add DontBlackDoor mod, since this happened with guests in the fridge.))

Cougar hunting Stabbunny? Could it get past the traps?

Apparently magically it could. Huh?

A few shots at it made it run off, however.

Day One Hundred and Ninety-Nine.

While they had some spare food, they ought to put that gastro-doofer into Sawbones.

Trocur decided to throw a party.

A Sawbones can cook even faster now party?

If this blood eclipse lasted much longer they'd be put of power.

At midday, it FINALLY ended, and power went back into the black again.
Sam got a flak vest, finally, and was allowed to go dye everything.

Day Two-Hundred!

Stab set out to do the peace conference, then the Red Raider's base. she took Falcon, Sam, Navarro and Hallie.

Trocur wasn't getting much component work done, but she was busy training the labradors to haul. And Stab had finished enough components to finish the other geothermal plant, at least.

The Deep drill had finally mined out the main chunk. There were six nodes left to mine in two chunks, and they they’d have to start looking for more steel.

Visitors from Southeastern Alia, including a former lover of Beatriz. Eight guests. Which was going to be a squeeze in the barracks, seeing as they'd JUST put end tables in too. Dangit.

A discharge sparked, but thanks to the fuses, all they lost was all the stored power. At least Dusk had got the new geothermal plant online.

But that was the last one, unless they wanted to build near the anima tree.

Well, that was nice. Stab didn't REALLY care, but whatever.

Mortars researched! Well, thought Oscura, no time like the present to apply that techprint for molecular analysis...

Day Two-Hundred and One/Day Two-Hundred and Two.

Oh. The chickens hatched. All of them. 'Kay...

Ambushed!

By one hapless fool seemingly...

Moving on...

The dogs were now just starting to be trained to haul1 That should help a fair bit.

Hmm. The butchering thing wasn't going too well. It might be better to put another little building up and let Sawbones slice and dice quickly, and let other people worry about taking the hides out of the way. Dusk had the thing moved back to where it was originally. They'd put some autodoors in later, but for now, it'd just have to be messy.

A mechanoid cluster. Still, it appeared dormant and didn't have any bad devices at the moment, so maybe they could ignore it until Stab got back.

The visitors were leaving gifting some medicine and gaining quite a lot of goodwill.

((Actually... Let's just try. Two enemies that are vulnerable to melee attacks and turrets vulnerable to EMP...))

NATURALLY it was during the combat that Stab arrived at the raid location...

Okay, both melee things were dead. If the turrets could be stun-locked, maybe the coming ranged crew could take them out.

Meanwhile, Stab and co ambushed the pirates.

They dealt with the easily enough (though one fled).

Huh. Evidently, they all exploded and took each other out. Fair enough.

There was a mini-turret left, which they (on the second try, because location switching) they took out with no problems.

Right, time to pack up and head back to base! Loaded up with what they took take and full of granite chunks, they headed back towards home, taking a couple of batteries with them, which was nice, at least.)

Both situations dealt with, by midday of day two-hundred and two, and only Barracuda hurt, from the fraction of a second before the mini-turrets got stunned.

Dusk gave up and moved the other butcher's bench to the old butchery too.

Oscura finished the research project (now they could have bionic stomachs... When they had enough sodding advanced components...) and figured screw it, coloured lights.

Day Two-Hundred and Three.

More visitors for Southeastern Alia, this time including Christian's ex-wife.

The bio-sculpting chamber. Might as well make a start...

OOF, that was a lot of silver and steel. But there you went.

And, heck, might as well start by putting Macy's implant in, and then she'd be working round the clock! (Once they had enough neural superchargers, she'd only be running at only 95% even with the 15% consciousness debuff.)

Trocur wanted a change of image, so she might as well dye her gear too.

(Stab had moved dye production to the 3x3 plot in the first greenhouse where the largely useless haygrass was priorly grown. Once winter hit, Stab was going to re-organise the growing plots a bit, to take into account that cocoa trees like regular trees, seemed to prevent anything growing in the spaces around them.)

By ten at night, Stab had gotten back!

She wouldn't rest long though, there was a nice silver mine not far away...

Day Two-Hundred and Four.

Still unloading the pack animals.

Macy was set to building the walls, since she was still woozy from the operation and was bogging things up.

Day Two-Hundred and Five.

Autumn again.

Okay, Time for another trip out, ladies, Stab told everyone.

Another damned transport...

Frack, Stab thought, goodwill, on the basis they really only wanted it for the shuttle loot.

Oh yeah, there was this potential quest too. Pity the lady wasn't worth keeping. Otherwise, it didn't seem worth it.

Outside the walls, naturally. Miles away from the nearest door.

Dusk figured they'd put up some wooden barricades.

The deep drill would be moved to the last spot on this vein of steel.

Right, then.

Dusk took a hit, but otherwise, it was done fairly fast.

And seven, Stab and co had reached the mining site.

And minced the opposition. Again, there was no point sticking around, just grab the stuff and a load of granite chunks and go.

Day Two-Hundred and Six.

The visitors left some clothes. Lovely...

Stab ran into some traders on the road. Actually having a big haul of silver, she even had something to trade. And they had components! 33, but Stab could only afford 27! But Stab would take that anyway!

*sigh*

So, the shelf in the dining room was working... Except that Sawbones kept taking meals to dump there, instead of the Freezer. So he was doing a huge round trip, instead of cranking out meals. Okay, dammit, they'd set the shelves to normal priority instead of important.

Visitors from the Black Empire came.

The biosculpting chamber was completed!

Dusk decided Stab would nice a nice marble shelf in her throne room to keep all the skulls on.

Coloured lights done; next packaged survival meals.

By six, Stab had gotten back to base.

One of the early jobs would be to make a second autocleaner. If they built enough of the buggers, Dan could finally come of cleaning priority and Kasil could take a break, too...

Stab authorised two more biosculpting pods.

Day Two-Hundred and Seven.

The Black Empire folks left some silver. Stab barely noticed they were there...

Okay. Stab ordered an SMG, three more neutral superchargers and added some more autodoors on the most travelled doors on the base.

The bad news was they were going to lose Macy and Espinoza for a few days to the biosculpting pods.

OH FRACK YES! Compacted machinery meteor! Mine! In both senses of the word!

Day Two-Hundred and Eight.

So important (and so exposed, down in the sough-east corner of the map), Stab had the miners work through the night to mine it out.

Long-range mineral scanner added in, and the first mortar.

Well. That was quite a good reward. But, again, females dominated the colony, so how bad was it going to be?

-22. Ouch. Bad, but things were going fairly well, so they'd risk it.

Dusk set to applying the four tech prints.

Falc got the heavy SMG.

Stab felt that it might be good to get everyone to dye their clothes that could, as every little bit helped!

Autocleaner two was done. Next advanced components, as Stab needed to make a couple of bionic spines for their elderly colonists. Stab also remembered to use some of the psychic gear she had.

One day, she might remember to USE some of it...

Psylink to three, and learned word of serenity (which she couldn't use yet but...)

Guh. The psychic drone increased to -28. Nasty.

With survival meals done, now it was time to get on that artificial metabolism!

Huh. They were also now very low on steel. Great.

Stab ordered three more neural superchargers... Just for solar flares to kick in.

Great.

Well, Stab guessed since they couldn't do ANYTHING else, they might as well sandstone tile the throne room.

((Can I just say, solar flare is a really crappy event? It's basically just the game saying "ahaha, you're screwed entirely by RNG and there's nothing you can do about it!" The eclipses are one thing, but solar flares are just RNG crap. I'll disable the frackers if I can next time I play.))

((Actually, since replacing the flooring in the throne room caused an even further mood drop, no. Reload. No solar flare.))

((Um, game, WHY is guinea pig 1 WELL outside the pet area? Not even a little bit, like MILES? Just so as you can say "hunted by a warg?"

Well, frack it then.))

Guinea pig 1 wandered off for some inexplicable reason and was eaten.

Visitors from the Lenere Tribe arrived.

Wow, they had a lot of chickens. This way going to make them a lot of chicken meat.

Survival meals were done (again...) Stab opted to learn to make harpsichords, since everyone was moaning there wasn't enough entertainment at the moment.

Stab was getting concerned that the devilstrand wasn't going to grow in time for winter. Given it has been set for spring it SHOULD have managed...?

At least they had enough neural superchargers for half the colony now, anyway.

And there we must leave it.

Part Sixteen

Day Two-Hundred and Nine.

Harp was researched - harpsichord next. Stab order a harp be made, whenever someone had a moment.

Stab finally relented and put and over-wall vent between the dining hall and workroom, along with an over-wall cooler.

Barracuda and Reille were finally getting married.

Day Two-Hundred and Ten.

Harpsichord research was completed. Stab now paused the research, since she wanted the researchers looking for more deposits instead.

A load of ambrosia grew to the west outside the walls, more or less at the same moment, the Lenere tribe guests left, leaving 24 plasteel.

Okay, you COULD build a roof over the chairs for the scanners...

The harp, curtesy of Beatriz, was installed in the rec-room.

Oscura was the first to use it...

Yeah, the power drain was more than the geothermals could handle. Finally time to build a chemfuel generator.

Huzzah! Stab had created the first bionic spine. Kasil would be getting that one (since Trocur already had artificial parts).

The chemfuel generator (in a separate building...) was now online.

Day Two-Hundred and Eleven.

Mff. Stab was going to have to use almost all the steel stockpile to create another couple of biosculpting pods (simply because she wanted to stagger everyone going in, and two at a time was sufficient.) Maybe eventually, they'd have enough pods and some automated defences that the colony could do it in two goes over winter or something, but not right now.

FINALLY! Some more steel. Right, long-range scanner set from steel to components.

Macy was out. Her healing cycle would have to wait until her ear could be replaced.

Stab and Sawbones next due for the treatment... But Stab felt it would be better to wait until a0 she'd finished Trocur's new spine and b) until winter. So it would be Dusk and Dan next.

Day Two-Hundred and Twelve.

A royal tribute collector arrived. You know what? Stab could afford a couple of hundred gold this time.

Day Two-Hundred and Thirteen.

A larger group of raiders arrived. Not attacking immediately, this time.

Annoyingly, they managed to shoot Oscura when the colonists were setting up more sand bags, because stupidly Stab forgot to forbid the door.

Whelp, might as well man the mortar, right?

Nah, the enemy moved to attack before Christian could fire it.

Barguest, like a fricking IDIOT, managed wandered into the killing block corridor and got taken down. Better forbid those areas from the Warg Zone...

Still, that worked well enough!

Two captured, and combat trade ship JUST showed up, hopefully sticking around long enough to dump all the spare weapons on.

Assuming either survived, both prisoners (both girls again, really, the opportunity to have female supremacy was badly missing this colony...!) were potentially quite useful.

Hallie sold off all the spare weapons and bought some components (only six), medicine and a tech print for neural computing in exchange for two of Falcon's jade statues.

Okay, Stab had made enough components for a bionic ear for Macy. (Trocur would need to, but she could damn well wait until everyone else had some artificial parts!)

The components meat Stab could manage to have two more biosculpting pods installed.

Balgucha had gotten an infected wound, too. Oops.

Day Two-Hundred and Fourteen.

Stab did a bit of research and determined that a good way of keeping the killboxes trees (and thus cover) free would be to turn them into growing zones and put haygrass there - but a better one would be to make them into a massive graveyard, which would keep the clear of plants AND be convenient and so VERY Aotrs!

A good start. (East gate would have the growing field solution for a little while as interim.)

Trocur had at least improved she could make bionics, since she apparent had started on the ear.

A megasloth just self-tamed.

WUH.

Okay. Um. Fine...?

DAMN! they could HAUL?!

Fracking A!

Welcome to the colony Slow Death.

Darn, though, it was now too cold for the animals to east grass. Stab hoped there was enough haygrass, as winter wasn't even there yet.

FINALLY, at two o'clock, the psychic done ended.

Hmm. Slow Death would have to be confined to the Warg area outside the base, he generated too much filth. Stab allowed the Warg zone into the storage room and armoury, to maximise Slow Death's hauling.

MACY. How. Why.

Macy's ear was done. Once that was in, she could have her healing cycle too (hopefully overlapping with her anaesthetic wearing off).

Day Two-Hundred and Fifteen.

First thing in the morning, the power system flipped. Good job they had those circuit breakers (and the batteries on the secondary circuit).

So, as the growing season had stopped... Cocoa trees were at 95-96%, and devilstrand at 68%. (And they'd been growing all year.)

Well, that was annoying. Clearly, given they were unlikely to survive the winter, you clearly HAD to grow them indoors.

Okay, somebody kept eating all the fertilised eggs.

Stab ended up setting up a NEW zone, "hauling pet zone" which made use of the invert function.

There. That hopefully would keep the eggs safe.

More thrumbos. Yeah, Stab was good, thanks.

Third autocleaner done.

Okay, idiots, only meals were allowed to be used as nutrition for the biosculptor pods.

As Macy entered her pod, there we will leave it for the day.

Part Seventeen

Day Two-Hundred and Fifteen.

Screw it, Esdo and Beatriz would go into the pods, Dan and dusk were nearly done. (And Barracuda just went into a go frenzy.)

It had, of course, occurred to Stab that if they could managed it to have everyone go in shifts into the pods during winter, they'd cut down on the amount of food consumed. But they'd need to have nearly all of the pods done by then.

Visitors arrived from Southeastern Alia... Including Christian's ex-wife.

((Huh. Okay game, I tip my hat to you. Because this IS the same character, I recognise the name and the bio. So it obviously doesn't just generate all these people entirely at random every time, it has some facility for recurring characters.))

Mad yak. Hopefully the traps would deal with it.

Oh for....

And don't go where you're told when drafted then.

Fragdammit.

Thrumbos, it doesn't matter how tempting you make yourselves.... Ah screw it, Stab, let's try this.

Yeah.

NOT.

WELL.

Trocur was down, one of the guest got injured (since the thrumbos BOTH went mad and didn’t attack STAB, who they could see, but the guest around the corner). The only "good" news was that one of them chased after and damaged one of the autocleaners, which gave a chance for them to be downed.

Stab paused the autocleaner and went to fix it.

Oh dear. Apparently, it CUT the GUEST'S ARM OFF.

Whelp. Stab supposed she ought to TRY fixing it if she could push out a bionic arm before the dude left.

(Stab was guessing this gentleman MIGHT not come back, and he might not give them a good review. Or if he did, they were clearly the best hotel ever...)

Oscura, still injured, was told to put the techprint on and then go to bed.

Why did they keep running out of power all of a sudden...? The biosculptor pod didn't use much...?

Second chemfuel generator, then.

((The power grid information is JUNK. It ONLY tells you the draw (which varies moment to moment) and the excess, I want to freaking see a layout of what's drawing power NOW and what isn't.)

Okay, well... The chemfuel generator wasn't ACTUALLY ATTCHED TO THE POWER GRID, so that was a bad start, but why? They didn't seem to have any problems... Maybe it was just that the day/night balance was just enough until the batteries were shorted.

Day Two-Hundred and Sixteen.

The visitors really enjoyed they stay. Apparently, being hospitalised after losing an arm was just what Tycho wanted for his 61st birthday.

Stab may have been feeling ever so slightly guilty.

An exotic goods trader stopped by. Haille cleaned them out of components, glitterworld medicine and advanced components and a psychic insanity lance for the rest of the statues.

Visitors from the Black Empire arrived.

Stab had three more biosculpting pods built.

Day Two-Hundred and Seventeen.

Worm was converted by Sawbones and Balgucha by Falcon almost immediately thereafter.

Day Two-Hundred and Eighteen.

Four MORE guests - the last lot hadn't left yet!

Um... Stab didn't have enough beds again.

Right. Okay. Stab moved two prison beds into Reille's old room and that provided just enough.

Clearly, they needed a second guest barracks.

Oops. Stab forgot to allow the guests into that room in the guest zone.

Day Two-Hundred and Nineteen.

Tycho finally staggered off home.

Stab planned a larger guest barracks room.

And apparently Tycho was enough to push Southeastern Alia into being allies. Neat.

GUESTS. STOP TRYING TO CONVERT DUSK.

Sawbones had a word, and Dusk felt a lot better.

Day Two-Hundred and Twenty.

Winter.

Well two lots of guest leaving, and a cured Macy was up and about. Good start!

...

Macy's anaesthetic was still wearing off. REALLY.

Oooh.

THAT seemed like it would be a good quest. But it could wait a couple of days - well, about five actually, since Stab was planning to run four more folk into biosculpting chambers (including herself).

Sam was actually a decent cook (better than secondary chef Trocur, actually), so she was now allowed to do cooking, since Sawbones would be out for a bit, as soon as Esdo and Beatriz came out of their chambers.

Okay, Esdo and Beatriz wee out. Stab, Sawbones, Barracuda and Reille, your turns.

Yeah, Beatriz and Esdo would be going back in too, for healing cycles. (Still it kept them out of the way for food intake...)

This area was cleared, since Stab was planning to put a third greenhouse in, and wanted it nearby.

Another mid-term project would be seeing if they could exhume all the graves and park them in the new graveyards, and get them out of the way.

Day Two-Hundred and Twenty-One.

Yes, they COULD move the bodies!

Okay, as it seemed highly unlikely, as stuff started to die in the cold, that the devilstrand would survive, so Dusk ordered it be harvested. In fact, they lost one then.

The dogs.

Can bury bodies.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That's brilliant! (Logical, to kind.)

Perfect.

Well. They got 69 devilstrand out of the year's crop. Not great, but...

Espinosa went on a food binge. Darn. Well, that was the trouble with a jealous neurotic. They were trying to get a part for her, at least, but...

A cougar managed to get in to try and eat a piglet and avoid ALL the traps.

Despite it going into a rage, they at least killed it without too much trouble.

Graves were nice and clear!

More work on the northern killbox, henceforth the Graveyard.

Day Two-Hundred and Twenty-Two.

More visitors arrived.

They were also constructing a little dining chamber near the fortifications, which might stop everyone from whittling about not eating at a table.

...

...

((Please read the following in the voice of 90's Kid/Dude from Atop the Forth Wall.))

"Yeah, this place is AWESOME! They have loads of GUNS! And skulls on spikes everywhere! And I got attacked by a giant thrumbo and got my arm cut off! BEST VACATION EVER, DUDES!!!!!"

Recruit?

Recruit.

Plus side, with all the haygrass, it looked very much like there would be no pen nutrition problems!

They had to add another heater a piece to the dorm blocks, since they were no heating well enough, and were only a mere 15ºC.

Day Two-Hundred and Twenty-Two.

Barghest apparently got into a brawl with a wild alpaca.

Interesting. A psychic drone (on MALES, for once) on a nearby base guarded by four maneating huskies.

Dusk thought the first reward - though worth less - was better, since the monosword looked much better than the plasma sword, both in straight number and in personality.

They'd leave it until the last minute to accept, though.

Day Two-Hundred and Twenty-Three.

A lynx got in and started attacking one of the labradors. Hallie shot it.

Hmm. The dorms were apparently no warmer for a second heater. Perhaps they would have to thickness the walls and add a second layer outside?

Okay... For some completely inexplicable reason, this time the guests weren't happy and "they wouldn't be back anytime soon." (So no covert. And Stab had even had Hallie work on her.)

((For no readily definable reason, other than it was, y'know winter now.))

That was rather annoying.

Day Two-Hundred and Twenty-Four.

((Okay. The dorm temperature is going up and down for no reason. It's going to 21ºC and then dropping back to 16ºC no matter what I do. It's like the cooler is fighting the heater, but the cooler is set to 22ºC so it SHOULDN'T be.

Fine. Scrap the fricking walls and turn the bloody cooler off.

Also, game I am getting VERY tired of wild animals attacking stuff, especially when stuff is OUTSIDE THE WALLS where it has no reason to go. FINE. Hauling zone confined to INSIDE walls only.

NO. GAME. Balgucha is NOT going berserk, stop trying.

And no the visitors are leaving with a -24 score instead of 0.

Yeah, I have NO idea why the temperature is doing what it is.

And I have had enough of the bovine excrement for the night.

Time to stop and go ask questions, because seriously what the hell.))
