Karen Encounter 1#

Working in Retail, it is sadly normal to have Karens coming in. I've worked in retail for 2 years, heading off to my 3rd year.

This is one of my encounters XD

This one encounter, it's a recent one. I had a line of customers, I marked big bills with a counterfeit pen to see if they were fake or not. Its what I was told to do. This woman comes up to the counter, I ring her up, grabbed her cigerettes, marked her bills and sent her off her way. Two minutes later my manager of the day told me that the woman I had just rang up reported me cause I was too slow ringing her up and that I didn't need to mark the bills. She had covid and was trying to get out of there fast

wanna know what I told my manager?

I told my manager that "if she had Covid, she shouldn't even been out in the open and should've stayed home to get better. I put that woman in the STUPID Category and I wasn't going to apologize"

Needless to say, I didn't get in trouble :3

Lucky you have a manager like that. I had my fair share of Karens working retail, yet my managers always sided with them and wrote me up! It made me feel so betrayed...

While that was not the lone reason I quit that job, it was a major factor that tipped the scale. I just felt like I could trust no one in that building.

Glad you didn't get in trouble! Don't take managers like yours for granted!
