Update on the foot · 7:36pm Sep 15th, 2021
Well, I'm home, my whole foot is swollen and I'm very lucky that I didn't lose my foot.
How I got bit? I was getting the front gate for my dad cause he was home. I was barefoot: to note that I live in the country so walking out barefoot is normal. I went to get the ice dad had bought when a baby copperhead thought my big toe was a rat and bit me.
Let's just say it was a first for a lot of guys that day. My family and I's first snake bite in the family, the first snake bite case the EMT guys - God bless those men - had gotten a call for and first time the ER staff has seen a snake brought in with a case like me so I had a three ring circus outside my hospital room 😂
So now I'm home, I didn't get the anti venom luckily but I'm bed bound until my foot is healed.
I take it that they didn’t give you anti-venom because the snake hadn’t developed any Viable sacks yet?

More like the anti venom was 30 thousand bucks and I have no insurance.
I'm lucky cause the baby snake doesn't have much control on it's venom distribution.
