So... I wanted to surprise you all...
I wanted to write a comedy one shot.
Apperently fimfic had other plans.
I wrote about a quarter of the story, then hit save and wanted to view the story to see if the change scene lines would line up.
There was nothing.
I hit edit again and it was there, hit save and it said it did.
I opened another window and went page hopping to make sure I was connected still. I was
So I hit save ONE MORE TIME, and edit so I can view, nothing there. So I reloaded the page.
I should have coppied the story.
Its gone, all of its gone! Forever.

NEVER do your writing in any sort of submission box or anything that's vulnerable to a program crash.
At a minimum use Textedit/Wordpad on your own computer, or Google Docs if your internet connection is good enough.
Copying and pasting the finished product into fimfic is trivial, and it only takes one loss like this to scar you for a long, long time. I've lost my share of long journal entries this way back when I was a regular LJ user. I learned my lesson back then.
