Dis-Hearten's Disheartening Apology: A Comic Story Already in Progress! · 3:45pm Aug 28th, 2021
So, it's nearly been an entire year last I made a blog post. I remember this cause the last blog post was "Happy Birthday to Me" and well, that's fast approaching...
And seeing that I'm working on working on getting a new chapter in the current story done and figuring out where everything is going... (I know where it all ends, it's just getting there that's the hard part!), I thought I would share something that I feel is a rather big accomplishment for me.
A series of drawings that don't center around Heartbreak, gasp! But instead one of her Alternate Universe Incarnations that was featured off in the distant land of Alternate Hearts!
This being... drumroll please... Dis-Hearten!
Don't remember Dis-Hearten? Well, hopefully after this for better or worse... you'll be at a loss to forget her!
Dis-Hearten is the Draquinous version of Heartbreak. But unlike most Draquinous, she isn't really a Discord clone, or something similar to Discord in a jigsaw puzzle of static animals cobbled together...
Oh no, no, no, my dear little readers! For you see, while Dis-Hearten is indeed an amalgamation of nine different animals, the positions and placements of the parts of these animals are constantly changing based on poor Dis-Hearten's emotional states with each animal relating to a particular emotion! And sometimes, if she's feeling one emotion particularly strongly, she might turn into a pony sized version of that animal!

So... Let's begin this fifty drawing story... Bewarned... While all images are safe for work... Things are gonna get... Weird.
Poor Dis-Hearten, she did something that she needs to apologize for but just can't find the words... Right now her animals being displayed are bat ears (bat is love), what appears to be rat hand (rat is life), cat eye (cat is death, the wanting to die, or the wanting of others to do so, or even the peace in the moment of death), and I think rabbit face (rabbit is fear, of course).
Ope, she felt something else! What could it be? Why is her skin turning chitinous?! Are those wrinkles or ... something else?!
Eyes! Multi-eyes! And what happened to her hand?! Is that a Spider paw? And are those mandibles coming out of her mouth?!

I, I, I Feel LIke A MONSTER.
That's some fast shifting! They're afraid that because they look like a monster, that they are a monster! But that fear brings out the rabbit! And because they've been called 'cute' as a rabbit, and because bunny, they get angry! Rage filled even! And that rage brings out the dog!
Ope! Can't forget that she's a Draquinous! Breaking the forth wall is what they do best! And while the whole process of drawing this was taking place... Those who I showed it to had some... thoughts... These thoughts made Dis-Hearten quite angry... and scared... and wanting death... And feeling... loved? Well... even negative attention is attention... And she does want attention as shown by those monkey paws and tail she's displaying... (monkey is want/greed/avarice) I have to say that I'm actually proud of this drawing...
A bit confusing looking, but when you're constantly shifting forms... Well, things look messy...
The bats of love screech in the night... Notice that she's wearing clothing! A shirt and shorts. Both magical creations given to her by this universe's version of Rarity. There's also a curious hole in the back for her version of the mark...
More forth wall breaking... those voices beyond the confines of the paper that she's been drawn onto aren't very nice, are they?!

I do like drawing all the curlies! Wait... Oh no... Now she's getting all regretful... Wondering what she should be feeling, if she should be feeling... how she should be feeling... That's not a good thing! Pull yourself together Dis-Hearten! You don't want to-
Oh, by the way, if you can't tell, there's going to be more to come... I'll try to post these in units of ten, but honestly, it'll be where I think breaks flow best in the story...
