So I'm waiting for my story to get approved and it feels like it's been days. (Really it's only been about 16 or 18 hours since I sent it in to get approved.) But it's that waiting that really gets to you. All of your fears and worries crank to 11 and then start going up exponentially as the hours drag on. Things like, "Will the readers like it?" "Did the mods read it and hate, but instead of rejecting it they leave it on the perpetual "waiting approval" que so that you don't try to upload it again. But you're still waiting for them to green light or red light it." Or "I should delete this thing before anyone ever reads it. Bad enough a few people read it, they were at least friends and probably just lied to my face to make me feel better."
All of those swirling thoughts and worries just get stronger with the waiting. I am not one who is really patient when I'm waiting to get someones approval.
Yeah it's unpleasant waiting for your first fic, once you get the first one up at least you can get them auto-uploaded in future

Agreed, still sad that the que lines are so high and the number of people able to get these kinds of things pushed through are so small/busy these days. I should see about helping out with getting fics approved.
