No, not referring to my favorite DooM weapon. And in the Raridoom mod it's called the spreadshot, so that's not it either.
No, I'm talking about my writing style, and referencing the method for genetic sequencing. Basically, they take the whole strand (whole story in my case), and slice it up into many little pieces, and then stitch it all together.
That's kindof how I write. Scenes pop into my head, and I write them down. Then I just kindof stitch everything together.
For example, 14 Days until T-Day? The first thing to be written was the ending fight scene, the Twilight vs Trixie showdown. Everything else is just kindof working its way towards that.
Vamponies II? I know how that's going to end. Heck, I know how Vamponies III is going to end (if I can ever get around to it).
Luna's Existential Crisis? I basically worked backwards, starting at the end. That's how it got its name, from Luna having a conversation with Celestia that now, thanks to some random inspiration, won't happen for another five chapters at least.
Of Earth Ponies and Their Magics? Epilogue is already written and has been for about two months now. Pinkie vs Screwball is written. Heck, I even wrote a rap battle for those two. But getting there? That's another matter entirely.
EFSTET: Riverton? The second half is pretty much done. It's as good as done. But there's a scene connecting what I've posted and what I've written that just won't come. I've tried glaring at the page, I've tried writing while super sleep deprived (strangely enough, this is when most of my best work happens), and it just won't come. Other plots have come, though. I've written down another 9 plotbunnies for that team. I kid you not. Nine other ways for them to go. But that one connecting scene won't come.
I'm wondering, does anyone else have this problem? Or am I just a weird writer with really bad project ADD?
And then there's Griffons and Nightmares and Magic, oh my!, but that hasn't been posted because I'm too lazy to do the cover art. #bronyproblems
Well, that was a long-winded rambling session that meant nothing. Carry on, then.
