I finally figured it out!
Apparently, 5:00 pm for me is 12:00 am for the central FimFiction servers, so whenever I post something after 5, it always says it was posted on the next day.
This discovery doesn't affect me much, I assume there is no concentration of FimFiction users in that timezone, but now I know when I can post and have it be on the next day.
Also, looking at a timezone map shows that the central FimFiction servers are either in the UK, or Africa. Considering the circumstances it would be safe to presume that whoever created FimFiction is British.
Would anyone like some Tea and Crumpets?
