"Conglomerate! Where did this come from? You didn't say anything about a Western in this year's line-up!"
It's true, I didn't. This story really came out of the blue.
To put it shortly, I needed a break. Now you may be thinking, "Why not just stop writing for a bit?" Well some of my long time readers might know of my infamous 'long posting time'. It certainly isn't because I write slow, quite the contrary, I started and finished the first chapter of My Little Pony: The Western in three days, that averages to 2000 words per day, certainly not slow. My lack of speed comes from my writing style, I take many, many breaks in between writing. It keeps me level headed, but I can still get carried away.
No, I needed a different kind of break. Over the past few months, I have been focusing purely on writing and finishing Friendship and Giant Worms. Now don't get me wrong, I certainly want to finish it, but doing the same thing over and over can get tiring. I had some built up inspiration that I wanted to spend, yet I couldn't use it on what I had planned. The entire idea of making MLP a Western was a quick little gimmick in a small Discord server I'm in. I just took it and started running.
It was supposed to be a quick little detour, enjoy the sights, refresh myself, and come back ready to continue work. Turned out to be anything but quick. The trip back got delayed, and I was forced to slog through the rest of the story. I definitely rushed the end, but now that it's done, I'm ready to go back to my regularly scheduled program, and I'm certain some of you are too.
Stay tuned
