Thoughts on It's about time · 2:51am Apr 17th, 2021
This episode is about time travel one of the most convoluted story telling tropes ever created. The biggest problem about time travel is how to avoid the classic grandfather paradox. Let's say you go back in time to stop some disaster like 9/11 let's say you stop 9/11 from happening but then how would the you in the future have the knowledge that 9/11 took place to travel back in time to stop it? I know things like Avengers Endgame has tackled the idea using a multiple timeline theory to explain how changing the events of the past doesn't change your future but it does in other timelines. But this episode does an excellent job of showing that if time travel does exist then the only way it could even make sense is that you actually can't change the past. In fact time travel may only cause the exact event your trying to stop and it may happen anyways or you yourself may be the cause of such event since it technically already happened. Anyways I know that this was really was a basic story of Twilight learning a lesson that she should live in the present instead of stressing about the future. But I do love how this simple episodes of MLP made me think a lot about time travel and how I sort of hate it in stories because usually I see these paradoxes all over them.
Other thoughts
I loved Cerberus making an appearance in this episode he's so cute!!!!
I loved how Twilight was trying to pull a mission impossible and every pony basically ruined her little fantasy lol
I'll admit this. I do like the episode but I do want to know what caused the initial freak out before the message from the future.
I also think along the lines of dragon ball's concept of time travel

Twilight being twilight caused the intial freak out...

But if it was just Twilight being Twilight, what made her think that a disater was going to happen in the first place?
It could've been that the first time travel scene did, but there's so many complications.
I know you're probably doing reviews in order, but I do look forward to seeing the cutie remark review you do
