Planning on putting my stories on Fanfiction.net and I notice something. · 6:19pm Nov 30th, 2012
Looking through the rules I find a very disappointing one, that makes no sense.
What may not be submitted:
Any form of interactive entry: choose your adventure, second person/you based, Q&As, and etc.
First of all no second person? that stupid, many of my favourite fanfics are in second person. Such as Twilight and I and not to mention many officially published books that I loved reading when I was younger are too, such as Goosebumbs and the very first novel I ever read that got me interested in reading, can't remember the title, that's kinda ironic.
In addition they go ahead and ban choose your adventure. I can't imagine the reason that these couldn't be considered legitimate literature and again I refer to Goosebumbs I used to love the choose your own adventure series.
While this doesn't effect any of my current stories, it's going to make be reluctant to write any 2nd person or choose your own adventure ones of my own.
Well thankfully as long as Fimfiction exists and I'm still obsessed with ponies I won't let Fanfiction.net's retarded rules stop me from writing what I feel like.
I just felt like having a bitch about that and am interested in your opinion on 2nd person stories and if they are legitimate literature and if they are, why a popular site like fanfiction.net would outlaw it?
