Sisu's final design is a debatable topic in Tumblr · 1:35pm Jan 29th, 2021
There's been a lot of complaints from Tumblr users regarding the final design of the water dragon who is set to appear in Disney's Raya and the Last Dragon. Some said that she strongly resembles Elsa because of her big eyes, looks like a Kirin, has too much fur, her snout is short, lacks whiskers, etc.
Whilst scrolling on Tumblr, I saw their edits of her features which, no offense, is just off-putting and unnecessary. If they don't like it, that's their problem. I think Sisu looks great and I don't think she looks a lot like Elsa. One can't expect Disney to accurately depict an eastern dragon because their approach of designing mythical creatures is quite distinguishable.
That's all I have to say. What do you think?
The way I see it she perfect the way she is because the movie is set in a fantasy world, so the artist has a right to design their characters the way they see fit. I'm ok if those self-proclaimed artists redesign her in their accounts, but they have no right to force their depiction on others, ideas. Yes. But to change it to YOUR prepared tastes is a selfish and moronic thing to do.
That the only thing I can say, but I do wish that people just respect other's creation if is not harming anyone. I feel this people are quote on quote purists

The Southeast Asian representation is already there. Why the hell are they asking for more? Those purists will never be satisfied no matter what.
The artists who worked on the film did what they think is best. Let's just give credit where credit is due.
I don't care about the design really if people are having issues with it that there problem. you can't please people so I was expecting people to "fix" it for themselves
