Hey, guys. Here is my review of DreamWorks’ Megamind. This film was definitely a mega-entertaining one; it is one of those movies which I didn’t really have a high opinion of at first. However, the more I continually watched it back in 2010, I liked it a lot. It’s not one of my favorite films, but it’s still really entertaining with interesting characters, above average plot, and good conflict. My dad liked it a lot, so he basically introduced me to this movie at the time. Do I still like it now? Well, let’s take a look here:

Will Ferrell voicing Megamind? Uh, yes, please! Considering how much of a talented actor he is, he was a great casting choice for our main protagonist. Speaking of which, I find it highly original that an actual villain is the main character in an animated movie. Sure, there is also Metro Man as the hero, but a villain is the main character? You don’t often see that in children’s shows and movies nowadays. So props to the filmmakers, executive producers, and writers for carrying out this idea. Megamind is... well, he is funny and entertaining in some ways, but he can be a bit annoying as well such as going overboard in his villainy.

As for Metro Man? My answer is... no. He is nothing more than a cliche, generic superhero who is no different from Superman (in terms of strength and power). Also, if he really felt that he didn’t want to be a hero anymore after so many years of fighting Megamind, why didn’t he quit sooner? That twist of him giving up his superhero life just to live his career of being... Music Man is poorly executed and so last minute.

Titan/Tighten? The thing is that... he is an okay villain. I mean it. There is no glaring flaw he has except he is plagued with the overly used cliche of being rejected by a girl he had a crush on and turns bad because of her. Yeah, Megamind played a part in that mess, but come on, seriously? Was Hal really that much of a banana peeled jackass creep to understand that she had no interest in his dumbass? I just despise this cliche of a guy turning bad because of being rejected by a girl. In the real world, such a mindset will turn men to rapists and sex offenders. When will people understand that no means no? Get over it, you decrepit omelette.

Minion was fine though. Honestly, he was one of those good parts of the film. He is hilarious and a good, caring person to look after his boss. David Cross never fails to be so enjoyable. His roles in the Kung Fu Panda films and Alvin and the Chipmunks films are a testament to that.

Roxanne Ritchie? Eeeeyeeeeaaaaaaaahhhh..... no. Boring and bland. Move on.

The voice acting was great, the animation is spectacular, the soundtrack is well done, the comedy was enjoyable, but the story was lacking in some areas although overall entertaining. It deserves a great mega-score: a mega 7/10.

You all have a good mega night!🌛

Metro Man didn't become Music Man, he then quit music to move on to YouTube and renamed himself Mark.

And thus, this was how Markiplier was born.

(I'm only doing this because there's a meme where Metro Man is Markiplier)

I agree with the rating.

Not a fan of that guy although he is funny at times.

I always like to laugh at his stupidity and man-childishness when playing FNaF. It's so funny when he plays with the plushies and action figures in the VR game and roleplays with them.

Oh, and I also laugh when he rages at Getting Over It and I Am Bread.

Yeah, he is so hilarious whenever he screams his lungs out. Almost as funny as LyndonFPS whenever he rages.

Haven't heard of him, but yeah, I can agree with that.

There is one of him raging. Seriously, I laugh my damn ass off every single time. My Primus, I’m dead! 🤣💀

Heh... I for me personally like this movie because ... it's not too often we get to see a villain go from, well, being a Villain to becoming a Hero. ^^

This movie was one of my favorites growing up. And, having recently reviewed it myself, I found that it was as fun as I remembered it being.
