Hollow Pony's starting up again in a week · 7:42pm Jan 10th, 2021
New chapter will release on Jan 17. Subsequent chapters will continue to be released on the same weekly basis as before, every sunday, until diminishing returns burns through my backlog once more. Not sure how long that'll take, but hopefully I can keep ahead of it to a satisfactory degree. I'm excited to publish the chapters I've already finished, but I can't say much more than that.
On a completely unrelated note, I absolutely bombed through about two-thirds of Hollow Knight very recently. (No spoilers, please.) Good soulslike, good Metroidvania, good game in general. And I very much liked the "Insect hives/chitin/husks but cursed and Hollowed" visual aesthetic. I'll need to finish that up properly when my new keyboard comes in, as I was butting up hard against my own personal skill ceiling; my reaction speed is crap, and my muscle memory has alzheimers. I'll get through it eventually, but a few of the challenge bosses will likely stay unbeaten, barring a striking power-up near the end of the game.
As for how I've been spending the last two months, besides writing? I've just gotten back from a three-week Christmas trip out to Missouri, though I didn't get nearly as much writing as I wanted done out there. Again, once the new keyboard comes in, I'll be picking up on that, and finishing up the chapter I'm currently writing, which will bring the current backlog to five. In the meantime, I've also been keeping a personal journal, as my own new year's resolution. It helps keep me writing, and should help with my memory a bit as well. Hollow Pony still has highest priority though, so if the journal's upkeep begins to preclude my fiction writing, I'll have to rethink that.
Mostly, I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still here, and will continue to be here into the unknowable future. See you in a week!
