December 25th Request Open: Plus, Change of Plans.

As I've promised in my post about this new gameplan, Chapters for both The Tape & One of a Kind have been released, and as per promised, I will temporarily allow people to request a one-shot story from me. Read the Request Section of this post to get the full detail of what is to come. But to give you a brief summarization, starting from today, I will allow people to request a story of me until next week on January the 1st, which will be the time request are closed. Request work as first come, first serve, and there are only 4 slots.

With that said, I would like to discuss the first chapters of both The Tape & One of a Kind, along with a change of plans for how I plan to go along with this gameplan of mine.

Changes Made to The Tape & One of a Kind

So the first major change I would like to discuss is that the first chapter of The Tape isn't narrated from Lightning Dust's point of view, but rather, her boss at the time the story starts. I did this for two reasons: one, it allowed me to explore what happened to Lightning Dust following her expulsion from the WonderBolt Academy, and secondly, it was because I tried starting it from Lightning's point of view, but continued to get stumped until I saw that this direction would be best. I promise, however, the rest of the story, save for a few chapters, will be narrated from Lightning Dust's point of view. To notify readers of when a different point of view is chosen, the Author's Note will say as such, much like One of a Kind, although this point of view shift won't happen frequently, so readers won't have to worry about this.

And speaking of One of a Kind, the first chapter starts off differently as well. While not spoiling anything, I wanted the story to start out as White's starting high school, instead of every other time I rewrote the story where he was already in the high school scene. This is because it allows me to explore more of White's characteristics, and that of his family, and as I've been made clear, that point of view will shift from character to character. It will also allow me to introduce Red Beauty more, which while she will still start out as a bully, I want it to progress slowly. As I've stated, this story will very much be a slow burn-type of story, so things will happen at a slower pace.

Change of Plans

While I do intend to have changes made to my gameplan, these changes aren't too dramatic and will ultimately work to my benefit along with the benefit of my viewers, readers, and whatnot. The first of these changes is that I won't reveal the stories I'll work on on the first Tuesday of every month, but rather, I will reveal the stories on the same blog post that will close the request for that month, so you will all see what I have planned for January 25th on January 1st, and it will be like that for quite some time. And the second change is that drawings, instead of being released on the 25th of every month, will also be released on the day I close requests for that month, so January 25th. This is mainly to give me more time to work on the art piece that I'm creating in the event I have other life events making things difficult.
