ONE MORE THING! · 3:09am Nov 28th, 2012
Before I decided to lay down, I wanted to post my story to ponychan.net as was suggested to me by someone from EQD.
Apparently, someone was using my name there when I wasn't looking, or something because I am banned.
I'VE NEVER BEEN THERE BEFORE!
For some reason, it could just be the tired talking, but I am starting to believe that the entire internet and all that use it have turned against me. Think about it. EQD keeps turning me away after spending a full day to look at my story, and then are vague on why it was rejected but don't give me a strike. Fimfiction tends to be strict about what I am allowed and not allowed to post, (Despite all the bad stuff I do see going up) and now this, what do you think? Paranoid and really tired? Or maybe I'm onto something...
I don't even know. Typically chans are anonymous posting though, which means they're not banning your name but your IP address. Since IP addresses are reused between different people they're probably not even targeting you. They'd have no way of getting your address and pre-banning you without simply banning huge swaths of the internet, and if they're doing that then there's very little likelihood you're the target. Broad bans like that tend to be for defense against denial or service or some such.
You can check http://www.ponychan.net/chan/banned.php to see if they give any explanation but really the best thing to do is not overreact. EqD deals with several dozen stories per day so what you're describing is just SOP, and chans are ... well, their own thing.

This is what it says..
YOU ARE BANNED! :\
You have been banned from posting on all boards for the following reason:
Ban evasion. If you wish to discuss your ban (that you were trying to get in the first place), please email a mod. ~ !!Lyra
Your ban was placed on March 18, 2012, 12:05 am UTC, and will not expire.
Your appeal was reviewed and denied. You may not appeal this ban again. For reference, your appeal message was:
Liek a somboadee
Well, unless you were trolling ponychan eight months ago, then, you're being caught up in the net of them dealing with someone else who happened to be using similar IP addresses. When someone tries to evade an IP ban they do so by forcing their internet provider to issue them a new IP; and the only real recourse for admins to deal with that is banning giant chunks of addresses.
If you do want to comment on ponychan then do as they say and email a mod. Say something like "I'm banned from the board despite having never visited the site before, can you review the IP block I'm in?" Then copy and paste the message you got, give them your IP address (you can get that from a place like http://www.whatismyip.com) and cross your fingers.
If you do, don't take anything they say personally, because it's 100% not a judgment on you. It's a single admin making a snap decision about an anonymous stranger based only on a few-sentence email, after dealing with a history of aggravation from an entirely separate person that you happen to internet-resemble.
