Ideas for Projects. If you see anything you like, take it and make it your own. Most of these have probably been done in some way or another, but they might give you a different idea while reading them or you might decide to use it anyway. Just because it's been done before doesnt mean you shouldn't do it. Yours will be different im sure..
14. Spike's dad was a black dragon who couldn't hatch him because for some reason he needs twilight magic. Twilight mages are extinct. He hears about a prophecy where a twilight mage is to be the element of magic. He gives the egg to Celestia as a way to find the mage. He doesn’t tell Celestia he is the father because he knows creatures of the dark, let alone dark mages, are not currently welcomed too well due to the absence of luna. Spike finds out and gets taught dark magic by his father and luna, light magic by Celestia, and twilight magic by Twi.... wait... she needs to learn twilight magic too. Where do we go to learn that?
48. Discord creates the elements of chaos, to be helpful of course. Choose 6: Change, emotion, desire, freedom, choice, chance/luck, thought, creation/creativity, destruction,
Likely choice is change, desire, emotion, thought/idea, choice, chance/luck.
Spike and thorax will be elements. Spike will be desire. Thorax will either be change or emotion.
67. A shady noble gives very young twilight a book. She opens it and tries the first spell. A gate to Tartarus opens and demons flood in. Celestia can't use the book since it's dark magic, and twilight is too scared to try any more spells. Celestia fights them off as best she can and is starting to lose. Suddenly a seemingly different, a draconic demon comes through and starts helping. He helps twilight banish the demons.
He is bound to her. She calls him Spike. He is very angry that someone gave a child a dark magic book, unfortunately, it is now known that twilight can do dark magic. On top of that, she has a powerful demon, willingly at her beck and call. Celestia has her work cut out for her, but she will not change her mind. Twilight WILL be a princess someday.
70. Can a character (likely spike) survive this hostile jungle long enough to find safety? Will that safety last? Is that safety even all that safe in the first place?
112. For an unknown reason, spike must now eat meat or he will wither and die. His friends won't abandon him, but they are very unsettled.
143. Spike disappeared. He was captured by a villain and experimented on, twilight is unbelievably pissed when she finds out… Turns out the little dragon is quite special, no other dragon has magic fire.
145. Armed with Celestia's sword in the right hand, shield in left, and Luna's scythe on his tail and wearing her invisibility cloak. Spike is the Captain of the Newly established Twilight Guard. A special forces unit. Celestia and Luna are training him at his request.
152. (Insert character) has been connected to an otherworldly being. (Optional: being used to be mortal as well, will need backstory). This being has ONE desire, to find entertainment in mortals while trying not to mess up their lives as much as possible... wait, that doesn't sound so bad. Too bad few know that, and none that do believe it.
My idea is to make it spike, like in those fics where he turns against his friends/they, him. Except, kinda the opposite. Instead, the being tries to keep him sane and good-natured, despite others screwing it up.
Celestia barely convinces twilight the only way is to turn spike to stone to save him later, like discord or luna. Will they find out he doesn't need saving like that before it’s too late? Celestia just wants her, kinda, adopted son to be ok, and Twilight wants to find a way that doesn't involve treating him like a threat. Too bad to everyone, including himself, he seems like one.
159. Long ago, a villain that regretted everything they did, created an artifact that would allow them to take themselves out of history, turns out it was even worse, so they used the failsafe on it to revert the changes before the timeliness became permanent. The former villain made a miscalculation and the artifact ended up where it was originally made. The problem is they can't go back there, they get arrested trying so they could destroy it, no one believes them.
Later, (either centuries or a thousand or 2) X (probably spike) accidentally uses it. Now they must find it and use the failsafe before it’s too late.
162. Spike learns a foreign magic, bardic magic. It’s fragile because he has to keep playing, but it is powerful... especially its supportive magics.
163. Spike has another enchanted comic book. One that allows him to summon characters under specific conditions.
173. Spike/another character is accidentally sent to the REAL Tartarus. A Dark, regretful, consciousless being made from many broken souls, twisted together, sees the little innocent child (or other) as a possibility for redemption. It "knows" they are from outside. It needs them to get out, to be something. it touches them and knows, it needs to give itself to them. "It" is just a bunch of nothing, this living being is MORE than something, it is everything.
Long ago, it started with 2 broken souls. They were lonely, weak, and both regret what they did to end up here with all of their heart. They could tell they were the same, and so they became the same. It searched and took all the souls it could find that were the same, and some that were close enough. Fueled by regret and the desire to not suffer at the hands of more powerful beings it grew until it was so many. But when each individual piece is broken and NEAR thoughtless, how could it be anything more than an animal. The answer is desire... it wants out, it wants peace, it wants redemption.
Will the creature become something on its own, or will it just dissolve and become a part of spike/character.
200. Inspiration from 3 different stories that I will link when I am not at work. Also is mostly just a combination of my other ideas.
Twilight is the most brilliant changeling princess in 3000 years. She has created artificial living constructs. Well... semi-artificial at least. It requires 2 "parents" to "donate" DNA and magic. She makes a Magical Artificial Intelligent Dragon. She insists lings call it an AID, not a MAID as it was apparently "born" a "male”. (Optional, the soul for the unit is obtained from... ahem... stillborn eggs and foals (cough dark as hell cough) in this case a dragon egg that failed to hatch, a foal that would have been named Sweetie Belle, and many more.
I am going to make a blog with more details on how I would run this idea.
