Ideas for Projects. If you see anything you like, take it and make it your own. Most of these have probably been done in some way or another, but they might give you a different idea while reading them or you might decide to use it anyway. Just because it's been done before doesnt mean you shouldn't do it. Yours will be different im sure..
25. A crime lord begins to question their happiness. They turn their organization into a tool for good by absorbing the competition while also giving back to the world.
How the hell am I going to make that work?....
40. An organization/cult started after Luna's corruption, which helps dark magic users keep their power in check and use it for good. Others don’t see it that way and are afraid of them, might include Celestia, haven't decided. So they end up having to protect themselves and try to hide.
41. Even death doesn’t want to separate these friends. So he teaches twilight an ability similar to Luna's Dream Walking... After Walking. Now she can visit any time she wants.
52. The only way for twilight to save gravely injured Thorax and Spike is to use forbidden dark magic and merge them together. Celestia is angry until confronted by her sister. She is still upset but completely understands. A now half corrupted and half-sane twilight struggles to find acceptance from all including herself.
53. A small team needs to go undercover in a crime syndicate. They need to be skilled so they get the job. They need to be smart and attentive to get what they need. They send changeling Bon Bon (sweet drops), Rainbow Dash, and... RARITY?... actually... this perfect.
I want to mention Freeport in the story, but for it to take place elsewhere.
58. A character accidentally becomes a lich/necromancer and they get an undead sidekick. They try to stop a plot by evil necromancers.
If Celestia, Raven becomes undead.
If twilight, spike becomes undead.
If rainbow dash, Scootaloo becomes undead. If rarity, sweet belle becomes undead.
If Fluttershy, all of the dead in the forest...
68. The shadow pony seemingly gets reformed, and now helps Stygian fight alongside his friends. At their intense, discomfort. Now they must venture off to help a faraway land with a monster problem just like in the old days. The group tries to convince Stygian to stay behind, but they can't see into the shadow's heart as he can. The shadow just doesn't want to be alone anymore. It wants to make up for what it's done.
93. Some new arrivals at the school of friendship. Windigo, umbrum, and/or siren. Some are worried, others are excited. One thing is for sure, whoever enrolled them clearly wasn't like the rest of their kind... or same for that matter. I'm sure this will turn out just fine. “Who here is part of a species that tried to end the world?” The Windigo, Umbrum, Ocellus, and Sandbar raises their hands, everyone looks at Sandbar funny. "What? I'm counting Cozy Glow!"
99. Dark magic itself isn't evil. Light magic comes from the mind, Intellect, and knowledge. Dark magic comes from the heart, emotion, and desire. That makes Dark magic hard to control and easy to lose yourself to your desire. Dark magic is rare for this reason.
100. The queen of light found and gave the lonely king of darkness company and eventually love. One day she had to sacrifice herself, by giving up her physical form, and going into eternal, dreamless slumber, to protect life and balance. The king vowed to protect all she had sacrificed for, so when dark magic users in Equestria threaten life and balance, he arrives to show them what true darkness desires. And show them unimaginable power.
116. Will I ever have a friend?... will anyone give me a chance... I know I’m an undead monster that looks like it was beaten with the ugliest stick, but I'm not here to hurt anyone.
148. Shadow play, OC.
150. A creature with unimaginable dark power gets accidentally released during a fight between heroes and villains. Celestia and Luna are terrified, this creature could mean certain victory for... "The light is just as warm and beautiful as I was hoping... May I please have a cup of tea? It’s been so long... it's alright if you’re too busy right now... huh... wait YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE ASLEEP IN THE VOID!
161. The "shadow" gets purified and returns to Stigyan. Just in time to save the day... ok it’s a lot more complicated than that but I’m tired right now… not quite the same as 68.
