The UTF Storyline So Far! (Build up to UTF II) · 12:54am Oct 22nd, 2020
So I looked back at my first story, The Ultimate Friendship, and I realized that some of the main plot points aren't the same compared to the sequel. Because of this I am needing to rewrite the first story. So until I take the time to go in and make the necessary adjustments, this blog will list all the important stuff that needs to be known leading into the sequel. With that said, obviously there are spoilers ahead.
Carter Johnson was a 22 year old man who was serving his 4th and final year in the U.S. military. He was part of the special forces who were sent to kill important targets. After the evil IFRE attacked, Carter was supposed to protect his squad, but was selfish and only cared about himself, causing the young privates to die.
Later, Carter dies too, but he wakes in the void: the path between life and death. He is summoned by an unknown entity and told that he's going to Hell because of his past deeds. He pleads for a second chance, and so the spirit gives him a chance at redemption.
Carter awakens in Equestria as an alicorn with the mission to learn about friendship in order to save himself from a fate worse than death. He slowly meets each of the Mane 6, telling them that he has no way back home. Keeping his true form secret, he stays in Ponyville and searches for answers.
As the story continues, Carter begins to have visions of the future, seeing evil creatures attack him and his new friends. He doesn't know how he gets them, but knows they must mean something.
Later, Carter reveals to the ponies the true reason he was sent to Equestria. He explains that he was a human who had a dark past. He lost his family at 18 by the hands of the IFRE and did not fight back, feeling as though the fault was his own.
Carter was then captured and injected with a special chemical called Darth Spawn. This gave him unnatural powers but at the cost of his sanity, as the powers filled him with fear. He broke out and fled, joining the military in order to hide from the IFRE.
He then had to watch over his friend's daughter, but the IFRE came and killed them and the daughter. Due to the Darth Spawn, he lost control and slaughtered the killers without mercy.
From that day, he went around the Earth wherever the military sent him and he killed everything, becoming their best asset, but only because he killed for his own indulgence. With time, Carter feared the man he became and chose to never have friends again in order to save them from him.
Once the explanation was done, the ponies agree to help him learn about friendship. As days go by, Carter grows attached to their leader, Twilight Sparkle, who works tirelessly to help him learn about friendship and make sure he doesn't go to Hell. She helps him control the Darth Spawn, but while he learns to keep it from affecting him, he can't eliminate it from his body.
He also befriends four timberwolves: Gaea, Cronus, Hyperion and Theia, as well as an anaconda named Conda.
But as Carter gets accustomed to his new home, reports of missing ponies appear. Carter and Rainbow Dash go and find an evil Pinkie Pie (based on "Cupcakes") and they realize that she is killing all the ponies she kidnaps. The two defeat her, but it appears that evil Pinkie Pie was made of Darth Spawn.
Weeks later, Hearth's Warming arrives, but Carter feels uneasy. He knows evil still lurks around. He goes to Tartarus to find answers after having another vision. In a secret part of the hellish realm, Carter finds thousands of ponies being drained of the life by some mass of Darth Spawn. It is then revealed to be the work of Grogar, the legendary evil of all evils. Carter beats Grogar and frees the ponies, two of which being Applejack's parents.
Peace is restored... or so they thought. In a shocking twist, the story ends with Grogar returning alongside many other evil creatures, creating the Ultimate Legion of Doom. He takes over Equestria and locks Carter in the dungeon to rot.
That is where UTF II comes in...
If there are any other questions I may have missed or if you simply want to talk about the story then please feel free to reach out to me. I already know that there are some flaws, bear in mind that The Ultimate Friendship was my first attempt at a story, and I will one day go in and revise it. But until then,
Peace,
