I had a strange dream last night. The details became hazy the second I woke up, but one aspect remained quite clear.
I was imagining I was reading through a story I uploaded to this site and got to the comments section. The only comment posted was one about how my story was "condescending" and was pretty much the worst story ever written.
The strange thing is that I know it was a figment of my imagination, but the experience during the dream was so absurdly realistic that it has left me unsettled even after several hours awake. Now I'm worried that the next few stories I upload will be considered "condescending", even though I've never in my whole tenure on this site ever seen anybody criticize a story with that word.
I don't know, things are just really weird.
Damn, that's just the worst thing to have a dream about. Sorry about that.

Eh, I'll get over it. It's just really off-putting to have a dream that depicts a very realistic concern without any of the absurd imagery/tone dreams are usually known for. Those you can dismiss as flights of fancy, but a dream where somebody calls your story trash with such a precise word is so grounded that it's hard to dismiss it as an impossibility. I actually logged on to FimFiction not long after I woke up just because I wanted to make sure it wasn't something I was remembering rather than just dreaming.
Just another reason the "it was a dream all along" twist in media is more believable than people think.
