Ten years...

It has been ten long years since the release of the very first episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It may have started out as a simple cartoon for young girls, but fast forward to a decade later, it is a worldwide phenomenon with thousands (maybe even millions) of fans from every gender and age.

What better way to honor this incredible achievement by revisiting its earliest episodes and seeing if they are as good as I remember them to be?

Yes, you are reading this correctly, folks. Starting from October 22, I will be reviewing one episode from the first season of Friendship is Magic every week until May 6, which is the ten year anniversary of its Season 1 Finale.

Now, I know this raises some questions. So, let me address a few of them.

Q: Why October 22?
A: That's the day the second part of the series premiere originally aired. I'm going to review both parts as one episode.

Q: Are you going to review the episodes from the next eight seasons?
A: Yes, I definetely am.

Q: The second season didn't start until September 17, 2011. Are you going to wait until its ten year anniversary to begin reviewing it?
A: Yes, and I'm planning to follow the same policy for reviewing the other seasons.

Q: What are you going to do when you're not reviewing episodes?
A: Writing stories, of course. I still have 4 unfinished stories and I have ideas for nearly a dozen more.

Q: Are you seriously thinking about reviewing episodes for the next nine years? This site might not even exist by the time you're finished.
A: You're right. Maybe, it won't. However, like I said, this is the way I choose to honor the legacy of this franchise and its now-iconic characters. I will make the best with whatever time I've got. Besides, even if the site does close down before I finish reviewing all the episodes, I can make video reviews and post them on YouTube, just like so many members of the brony analysis community have been doing for several years.
