Thoughts on Roaring Winds and Rising Tides

Ok, I wanna know your thoughts on something.

Should I rewrite this story?

I had decided that I was going off my intended path for that story by adding way to many things way to fast. And not only that, but the progression of the characters and story were going too fast. So I thought of a solution. This new version of the story takes place at the 1/3 way through the previous story, but something happened to cause a reset. They’ve still experienced what I planned for them to experience in the previous version, but they don’t remember anything, and the world they’r in is quite different from their previous one.

Of course I can just write that as an alternative universe to the original, and continue to write this version along side that version if people want. I’m completely capable of that if people want. The only reason I’m even doing this is because I thought the this story was going too fast, not because I was having trouble writing it.

So should I cancel this story, and focus on the rewrite, or should I work on both, and just have the rewrite be an alternate version of this (basically a what if).
