Alright, so I've been planning out a story for a while now that I just couldn't bring myself to write because of a fear I would mess it up.
Seeing as the story falls into the "Displaced" category, I needed to be very careful with it.
I'm not writing this to send a message or make some sort of impact in people, I'm just writing this for some good dumb fun, and as a way to call back to simpler times (those being 2015 through 2016) where I'd stay up all night bingereading awful fanfiction and having an absolute blast. I hope you will enjoy reading it just as much as I will writing it.

Displaced is often bashed due to how most of them starts, aka the comic con to meet the merchant and then be displaced based on who you were dressed as. Just avoid using that as the beginning and use some other way, like your character bought from a theft store, a pawn shop, flea market, or they found something in theirhome or location, maybe they died doing something and was reborn (assuming its not the hit by truck bit isekais use), perhaps a higher being is responsible for your character's displacement? Overall, there is no wrong way to do this,

I kind of tried to subtley make fun of this with the whe Totem of Undying thing. What I REALLY wanted to break away from is the "I bought it from the merchant then suddenly blacked out" trope.
Instead I had them casually die. In a car accident.

I've also seen the oh so cliché "oh discord brought us here". While Discord will make an appearance, it's not until later, and he hasn't brought anyone anywhere yet. The Totem of Undying was a concoction made by Alicorn Twilight and Garland to bring the Light Warriors to Equestria. Anyone who's played Minecraft will understand it. Picked that specifically because it's a comic-con, not a Final Fantasy fan gathering.
Personally I get the hate, but I honestly can't get enough of a good displaced fic. Kinda sad they all get canceled. Anyways, thanks for the feedback, and I hope you enjoy the chapters after this one!

No that was sarcasm. While I haven't seen a displaced story pull off the Equestrian purgatory trope, I'm sure it's happened.

Yeah, that'd be cool. I at least want to get the main arc out of the way. The next chapter brings the fourth Warrior in, and after that the real adventure begins.
Definitely keep in touch though, so we can work out ideas. I'd be down.

Awesome. Think it'd help out with ideas if there's something your character needs or would like, either that or just general help with a boss with one of my characters as a temp party member guest? My only concern is balance. Don't need someone who is stronger than the main characters.

Garland's power scale is absurd as it is, and he would honestly be able to deal with most of the planned story alone. All is revealed in due time.

Just remember, I've got two different version of my displaced. Present and Future, mostly because by doing so, cross-overs with future will leave present alone.
