For years, the Harry Potter series has been targeted by hard right/evangelical types who oppose the witchcraft elements. Now the series has been canceled by hard left/social justice types for J.K. Rowling's negative opinions of trans people. The silver lining? Folks in the middle now have a new addition to the "If both sides hate it, then it must be good" canon
If I've learned anything from the comment section of youtube videos, the middle doesn't exist. If you disagree with one hard line, you must be on the other hard line.

Oh yeah, much as we want it to exist.... it really doesn't.
My ex was crazy about Harry Potter. Especially, Severus Snape. She'd constantly tell me about how great he was. But I never got into the books. I was more about the super heroes.
I'd caution about the cancel culture. This whole thing reeks of mob mentality and lynching. Read an article the other day that pointed out that women tend to be its victims in disproportionately larger numbers than men.
