When Skystar had been told to find the Princesses of the Ponies, she'd expected to see bustling cities with welcoming inhabitants. Instead, all she'd seen on her northward flight were ghost towns and barren fields. She'd been forced to rough it out in the dark, monster-infested, overgrown forest that covered half of the continent many times; even though the north was cooler than Mount Aris, the forest was the only place where the air wasn't completely dry.
I really enjoyed writing this. When I'm writing fanfics seriously, I end up fretting over how events should connect and sentences should be worded, but I diligently wrote this for an hour. This idea has been at the back of my mind for a while, and I hope to expand it into a full story one day.
Huh, an interesting concept that's a bit more unique than gender/body swaps that keep the characters basically the same.

Roleswaps are fairly common, but most of the ones in this fandom swap characters with members of the same species. As far as I know, I'm the first person to swap two MLP species' histories.
