Why Comments Keep Me Motivated · 8:17pm Jul 20th, 2020

I'm happy that my recent stories (Including the repeated ones) are getting positive likes compare to dislikes but with zero comments is what makes me mostly depressed. The thing is, I want people to express their opinions on what part they like in the story. Granted the comments are optional just like Youtube videos but videos and fanfics are completely different. While you do different activities on each video, a fanfic is telling a story of one of your favorite shows.

To me, I think people's perspective on other user's stories is way interesting. Back in 2016 where I was new at commenting on other Youtube videos, I wanted people to see my opinions on the subject (Granted I went overboard at times but still). Fanfics where we put our imagination to the shows we enjoyed, I think it would be great to see opinions on the work we finished.

Yesterday I've submitted my story involving The Dazzlings and with a story with 3,000 words with no comments, makes my progress meaningless. It took my time to finish it and after 24 hours without a comment, it feels upsetting. Now look, I appreciate the likes and putting my stories in your favorites but without an opinion would of been enough to me.

I totally get it: views and likes are one thing, but comments have a much bigger impact!

It's just ashamed there's so many stories published every day and with my limited schedule strategy, I always get the less attention.

It also encourages me when people comment. It really is fun reading them. I look forward to reading new comments when I post a new chapter. I hope that more people comment on your stories next time.
