    Behind-the-page: Relapse

    Hiya, lovely peeps!

Welcome to Behind-the-page, the series where I give you background information on my newest release. On today’s spotlight, we have: Relapse!

So, first story on the year on the tail end of April. Suppose I’m going to be a little slow on stories this year as compared to last year. But no matter.

The Absolute Best of Heartstrings - Shelf 1

    Hiya, lovely peeps!

I love the written word. I love books and fanficiton and blogs; I just love reading in general. When I first picked up reading in 2016, I expected stories to be just that - stories. There’s a plot, characters do this and that, reach climax and end plot. I didn’t know that ‘themes’ and ‘depth’ and ‘feels’ were ever in those stories.

I’ve never been glad to more wrong.

    Happy New Year, lovely peeps!

    (A month late, but whatever.)

Six months ago, I made a blog recapping everything I’ve done for the first half of 2023. And since the new year has come, it’s time for the recap of the latter half of the year.

Not our Earth · 12:04pm Jun 20th, 2020

Hiya, lovely peeps!

Enough about my theories. Time for something new. Complaints.

I need to preface this by saying that I prefer Equestria Girls over the actual show. Therefore, I read more about humans than ponies. And one of the things that bother me so much about the spin-off is when writers include elements of real-life into the story. I know this is your story, so you do you, but this is my blog and I’m in a ‘complain mood.’

Real-life locations, languages, movies and even people are mentioned in a lot of fanfics surrounding EqG. I hate it. Why, you may ask? ‘Cause it doesn’t make any freakin’ sense!

Allow me to elaborate. Equestria Girls takes place in its own universe, with its own rules. It’s not our Earth. Since it’s not our Earth, there can’t be elements of our Earth in EqG.

It’s a fantasy land, not reality-land.

EqG earth Is based on Equestria's earth, which is based on our earth but with "ponyfied" names.
So it makes sense EqG would remove the pony part

O... okay. So, does it bother you when real-life elements are placed in EqG?

Going by your specific list:

Real-life locations: As I said, Equestria has Manehattan, which in EqG verse would be just Manhattan, so locations can be the same as earth.

Languages: this one really bothers me in the canon because the writing looks more like censored hieroglyphs, so I don't know what actual language they speak. Equestria has accents of earth's nationalities so I guess those nationalities can be canon in EqG.

Movies and people: Here I would draw the line. It's one thing to reference it with a pony name, (Like Hoofefeller or Maneopoly Colt), but in the actual earth it would stop being a parody, you would have the actual guy, or the actual movie.

In addition, it would bother me if one puts our history in EqG, since the world is clearly a different version of earth. Think of it like, the map of the earth is the same, with some added locations from Equestria, but the history and characters are all different.

Hope I'm clear.

Just in case; I'm not angry, just giving my view of the subject.

Iʼm going to talk about your points in order.

Donʼt worry, dear. I wouldnʼt have created the blog if I didnʼt want opinions. I actually rarely have comments to my blogs, so thank you for taking the time to respond.
