Why the heck does story approval take so long!!!
I have literally been waiting 4 hours!!!
Is it because actual humans read them and approve? If so, shouldn't they just get bots to approve stories? I mean, it would take less time and I won't have to be biting my nails wondering if I will ever post the story.
It's just taking so long and I really little too no patience when it comes to things like this.

Yes, actual humans have to proofread them. Using bots is a tantalizing concept, but it wouldn't work because they struggle to recognize the context of certain words and are inherently trigger-happy (see: Tumblr accidentally nuking nearly half their site).
If it's any consolation, after your first manual approval, any future stories become eligible for automatic approval as long as you don't intentionally abuse it to skirt around the rules.
It can take several days to have your first story approved. Some people are lucky and get through in a few hours. It just depends on how busy the moderators are and how long the queue is, and they won't tell you either, so you just gotta be patient.
I'll admit it's a nail biting experience, I actually have the option for automatic approval, but I don't use it, I rather know if there are any mistakes

Several days, yeesh. Looks like I got lucky with my first story: took only 6 hours from submission to publication.
But yeah, stay patient and hopeful, Aurora. I'm sure it will be posted sooner than later.
