What? Where am I? Well, I seem to have landed in some strange place that looks like the Sugarplum Fairy caught the flu. Time to make myself a new alias and try to blend in...

We regret the passing of more of our best musicians... · 3:12am Jun 17th, 2020

I am saddened to have learned today that Visions of the Poet has deleted his channel and music. I never got the chance to actually hear most of it when he was still around, but I had been planning to review and perhaps download some more of it. I never got the chance. Fortunately, his work is apparently still available at several archives, but I can never now thank him for the work he put into writing a rather large number of excellent songs.

So, this blog post will serve as both an obituary for an excellent musician and an entreaty for the rest of you to leave behind your finished works, even if you no longer want to stay with us. If you delete things you've previously uploaded, the people who have enjoyed it and the people who in the future would enjoy it end up worse off for its removal.

Now, let us all have a moment of un-silence for Visions of the Poet. I suggest starting with Friends Until the End, Sailing the Sea of Stars, Guardians of Harmony, or Kingdom Nightmare (only a small selection of excellent works, which in this case was basically all of it). I hope it's what he would have wished for.

Note: I have no idea what gender Visions actually was, and I also know of a lot of excellent female musicians. But, since "he" is also the English singular for unknown gender, I used it. That style has been proper grammar for far longer than the modern contrived alternatives. I obviously mean no offense should I have gotten it wrong (I've actually made the other mistake several times, and the artist wasn't female, just working with a lot of female singers as co-authors), but feel the need for precise communication is paramount.

Sad day. I've got at least one song of theirs that I really like. I hope they're enjoying whatever they've moved on to.

Another one was Woodlore, but that was long before I had heard of him so it was less striking. He had some really cool music too...
