Story Prompt Ideas #1 · 2:56am May 30th, 2020
Every now and then, I have a barrage of story ideas. Obviously if I suddenly have prompts for 30 stories, I can't be expected to complete them all. So, why not share them with the community? I will list some ideas, which any may take and use, tweak, or completely change to their liking. Even if you are not a writer, perhaps something here will inspire you. Or maybe you know someone who is a writer, with whom you are permitted to share this post with. In any case, happy writing, folks!
Prompt One First ponies to land on another world (aside from the moon, of course). Perhaps they find intelligent life, or maybe there's a terrible accident along the way and they are thrown off course?
Prompt Two Creepypasta about plague doctors. Plague doctors are actually reapers, waiting for the doomed to be close enough to death for them to take. Maybe somepony catches a plague doctor stealing the soul of a pony as they die, and now that pony is hunted?
Prompt Three A ship at sea is followed and tormented by some unseen sea creature. Perhaps it is leviathan, kraken, or some new creature not yet known?
Prompt Four A pony detective is on a case of serial murders and finds a note at a crime scene that warns him/her not to continue investigating or they would "ward him/her off in due time". As he/she begins to figure stuff out, the murders get closer and closer to their family? Now they are at a race against time to figure out the murderer before somepony in the detectives family is hurt?
Prompt Five Animorphs crossover?
Prompt Six Instead of Storm King being defeated, perhaps he wins and the Mane 6 become council members of an underground movement to overthrow the Storm King? Maybe they can't attempt to overthrow him until they've recruited enough soldiers?
Prompt Seven Discord has a brother. He finally shows up. Hilarity ensues?
Prompt Eight Spike and Twilight swap bodies for ultimate sexy times? 
Prompt Nine After S9 has ended, maybe the new Mane 6 travel to totally different continents to perform friendship missions?
Prompt Ten Twilight develops an unhealthy obsession with tacos? Or another pony does?
Prompt Eleven A spell cast by an unknown entity turns all of Equestria into dragon counterparts of themselves, and now they must figure out how to undo the spell?
Prompt Twelve John Cena becomes a pony, but you can't see him? Nopony in Equestria can help him because nobody can see him?
Prompt Thirteen Strange illness spreads across Equestria, turning everypony into lycanthropes?
Prompt Fourteen Inanimate objects become animated through a spell and begin attacking Equestria?

For whatever reason, the moment I heard of that I thought of Mage Meadowbrook and Zecora having some kind of conflict with a ponified version of Good Doctor Locklear
Always love a good mystery, an investigation by a Sherlock hooves type character or even a Manehattan style investigator
I kinda wodner what Starlight's village would look like in a world like this
prompt 8 exists already . its called Body swapping and mutual clopping. its been on hiatus for a long time though buts its pretty good for whats there. told from Spike's perspective though the way one chapter ends implies we would have seen Twilight's at some point i think.
