Nocturnals Status update

Hey everypony,

You might have noticed that for a while now, nocturnals went from a more adventurous story to a slice of life thing with a certain focus on world building and characters relationships, and I think I should explain that.

I just have too many ideas for the Noctris-verse, and this story. Things that are, to me, part of the world.

And those are visible in the Episodes 9 to 14. That's also why I changed the names from Chapter to Episode, since their flow felt more like episodes of a show. I did that partially because I didn't just want to say "3 months have passed since then, those things happened, let's move on with the main story", because that would have felt like a cop-out.

But now, I regret this decision, and decided to announce a few things:

• No more as slice of life heavy episodes that don't play into the main plot in Nocturnals. That doesn't mean that there won't be any more calmer chapters, but "side quests" will be delegated to another story (working title Nocturnals: Extras). I also plan to make short summaries for the slice of life episodes 9 to 14 as blog posts, so that readers preferring to just follow the "main quest" can do so without getting confused.
• With that, also properly announcing Nocturnals: Extras as a future project. How exactly it will take form, I'm not sure yet, but expect more slice of life content being collected in self contained chapters, as well as standalone short stories for some characters (I already have plans for Vinyl and Octavia, Spike, Dagny, Viola, Fluttershy... My brain is a mess, and I try to organize the chaos)
• The stories of the Noctris-verse will still all be listed here as well.
• I will not make a detailed timeline of events. If it is important that certain stories happen in a certain order, that will be made clear, but the stories collected in the extras will likely not have a strict order
• Noctris Girls is put on hold for the time being, unless there's a high demand for more content connected to it. On that note, I want to stress again that information revealed in NG is canon to Nocturnals and vice versa.
• Both Noctris Girls and Nocturnals: Extras will have to wait until the end of Nocturnals Season 1. Yes, I already have multiple season of nocturnals in mind, with the first covering most of FiM season 7, the second season of Nocturnals will cover the war with the Storm King, which will differ quite a bit from the MLP Movie. One season is likely going to revolve around Season 8 with more focus on slice of life, and the final season will likely mirror season 9. I also consider to give Shaded Moon her own story detailing her origins and her path to were she is today.
• This might seem strange now, and I thought a while about adding it, but decided to add it just to cover the eventuality. If anyone wants to write their own stories set in the Noctris-verse or using one of my OCs, feel free to do so, as long as you link to either the Noctris-Verse main post or to Nocturnals itself. If I like the story, I'll give it a shoutout, and if it fits in, I'll add it to the official Noctris-verse Canon. If you need help, or more information, I'm always open for questions.

And that should be it for now. Nocturnals season 1 should resume soon, and also have more regular updates than it had lately.
