First Case of Coronavirus in Venezuela confirmed · 3:26am Mar 14th, 2020
Well, now we're dead.
Not only we don't have any hospital, at all, with the proper equipment to deal with this virus, we need to subway (a crowded place) to move through Caracas (I need it to go to college, which is in another state) the Venezuelan likes to salute with hugs and (in the case of females) kisses, the water is rationed so places like Montalban and El Paraiso (which only have water once a week for just a couple of hours) are in a bad position.
Last night, Maduro decided to release a video stating that all flights connected to Colombia and Europe were blocked (but he didn't block planes from China) and he also banned concentrations of any kind (including schools, movies, etc. Although we know he was aiming at banning protest) and, today, his VP announced that all schools are stopped from this monday (March 16th) and if we want to use public transportation we must use health mask (which are already ran out since the citizens bought them like crazy since the virus was made public, which was months ago) and the VP asked us to be brave and understanding.
Guaidó, meanwhile, announced that protest, consisting in concentrations, are no longer viable and that new methods of protesting would be made later. He also announced that he would be working with health organizations (including USAID, the UN and anyone willing to help the Venezuelans) to find a way to prevent and cure the Coronavirus in Venezuela while reminding everyone that the sanctions DOESN'T include medicines and that the only reason why they haven't entered is becuase of Maduro (of course, unless we are talking about the medicine Maduro bought form his allies, then, they are allowed to enter... just to fall into the black market and be sold at horrible amounts of dollars) and nobody else.
The biggest joke of all this, is that the Virus apparently dies at 26°C-27°C, which is the weather in Caracas, more or less, and that implies that the Zulia State (40°C) is probably saved from it, too bad they don't have electricity.
Meanwhile, on the social media, Venezuelans are already joking "if alcohol and high tempreatures are what kill the Coronavirus, then that means I must go to the beach and have a party". Granted, I'm certain they are aware that the reason why countries like Italy are so bad right now is because, when the government announced the closing of schools and work, the citizens decided to go outside in large gatherings and do what shouldn't have been done to prevent the virus.
The part that worries me the most is that the virus came from two venezuelans who came from europe, in a plane that came here two days ago, and some of the citizens who were on that plane refuse to go to a medic that can check them out. Those two are in the Miranda state (which is right next to Caracas) and it's so easy for it to come here.
The only good thing, so far, is that my college (which is in the Vargas State, at the north of Caracas) will probably cancel classes while the virus is spreading so I don't have to worry of being infected for the time being. Still, this sucks.
It really doesn't help that my internet provider has failed and now I have no internet.
Dang that sucks... times like these I also hate being a Yank.

Don't be, the US has helped a lot the Venezuelans living outside of Venezuela (like the frontier with Colombia) and you'll have a lot more to be proud of if Maduro is gone.
Well, over here in El Psao Texas we might have our first possible case that apparently originated from California

Somehow, I'm not surprised that California is related to it. Best wishes.
I hope you stay healthy my friend

Thanks, same for you.
Here in Cuba we are accustomed to pandemics thanks to the United States. We have four cases, and already there is chlorinated water and health masks in every school or work center. Everyone are scared, but i hope we are prepared.
