Will start writing next chapter today/ A Look Behind the Curtain · 8:29am Jan 23rd, 2020
Have to go to bed, but I have a lot of free time before work so I plan to focus on attempting (at least partially) to get the first scene done in the next few days.
I don't usually do this, but to put the sheer amount of things I've been juggling and writing about in this story while trying to make any semblance of a cohesive plot (note: I take full responsibility as author and editor in any and all mistakes on my part for odd things happening since I primarily write something that I know will interest me and go from there. Any long winded worldbuilding and dialogue dumps are all little foibles of my own.)
But here's a written down version of what I have in my head at all times.
Things I want to get done for this chapter (prospective since things can change)
-DEER STUFF/ Twilight/ Luna (Big, super important/ ideas in forefront)
-Get Sour Sweet and Sugarcoat to Ponyville/ Get Dash and Shy back to Ponyville
-A focus on Sunburst/ Moondancer
-Start tying up most of Manehattan stuff so part two can be focusing on the aftermath of losing a central hub of Equestria
-More Diamond Tiara stuff
-Rockville
Four plot threads will converge due to deer- Dash and Shy and Dash's parents/ Moondancer and Sunburst/ Diamond Tiara (I have been attempting to hint in passing exactly what will happen. Well not everything, but I have tried to mention as much as possible, the exact ways each will impact the other.
Planned future stuff
-Canterlot
-Klugetown
-Storm Lands
-Griffonstone
Finished, for now plot threads due to pacing of story- Posey and Zephyr Breeze. Pacing will be faster when it resumes due to a lot of things needing to be introduced or to happen in these what currently five- proposed seven chapters?.
(Planned stuff can be sprinkled throughout the next two chapters since they deal with larger themes and stuff- important, yet more in a large scale kind of way and some worldbuilding. More a calm moment between all the plot threads I've had to juggle.
On that note, I will have to go back and read the last almost year of writing once part 1 is over cause I have to update my character/ world notebook. I would never want to show that since my handwriting is horribly messy when focused on the moment and I sure was while writing those forty pages of notes.
It sounds like a lot of good plans.
You mean you don't keep your notebook updated while writing?
I try to... sometimes I go back and find sync issues through.

Weirdly enough I don't. I only update when the backtracking to check plot points gets too unwieldy or I get to the end of a big series of chapters.
Probably helped that I had cleaned my basement and misplaced my notebook for a few months. So I managed through the most inefficient way possible.
And I started the chapter, only like 300 words in, but its going. Got sidetracked by life and figuring out exactly how I wanted it to start. That's always the hardest part cause once I finish the first scene in a chapter, everything really falls into place.
