Movie Review: Godzilla King of the Monsters (2019) · 10:56pm Jan 14th, 2020
Hello all. Finally, finally, finally got my full thoughts and feelings about this movie done and written up in full.
Now, like with my previous Godzilla movie review, the size of this review is pretty darn big, so I will be once again providing a link to the full review on my DeviantArt account if you wish to peruse it.
Whoever wishes to leave a comment about it, can either do so on this post, or if they have a DA account of their own, can leave one on the review over there. I'm chill either way.
I will say, in short, that I had a total blast with this movie, I thought it was a visual spectacle with fantastic monster design, characterization, and action. I also enjoyed a good couple of the human characters, even if some of them are mostly quirk over depth of character. I was most impressed by the film's villains, both human and giant monster, and I deeply hope that this movie's upcoming sequel Godzilla vs. Kong is a slam-dunk of a movie.
All hail the king.
Hail to the king, baby!

And long may he reign.
This is not only the biggest Godzilla, fun fact, but the strongest. Only two things have ever killed him. Burning Mode, and the Oxygen Destroyer. He survived both in short succession, AND and vaporized King Ghidorah.

Good point. He took the two canonical things that killed prior incarnations, in pretty close succession, and managed to survive them both. Granted, he had some help (Serizawa and Mothra) but still, the point stands.
I just really had a blast with this movie. They just did such a great job with the kaiju in this one. I think this might be my personal favorite rendition of Ghidorah, and Rodan had some awesome material too.
